MemberOvomorph02/23/2012How would you feel if they re-released all 4 films in theaters in 3-D like they have done with Star Wars and even Titanic?

MemberOvomorphFeb-23-2012 2:19 PM.punch fox in the face. 3D can be good, very good, like avatar, tron legacy, and toy story 3, but most of the time it looks like crap at re-releasing them on 3D is just a waste of time and money. also i don't think they would do that, remember, titanic had one of the biggest money impacts ever and star wars has the biggest cultural impact ever. alien is great and all but does not have that kind of recognition to the public.

MemberOvomorphFeb-23-2012 2:27 PM.3-D is too gimmicky. Even when filmed in 3-D it can look ok, but I personaly don't care for it and there is a large group of people who actively stay away from them. I'm not gonna see Prometheus in 3-D. I will see one once in awhile. I'm more impressed with a movie filmed in IMAX.

MemberOvomorphFeb-23-2012 4:18 PMStar Wars Ep I -III 3D!!! nothing can improve those travesties,Darth Lucas is just cashing in now....(yeah yeah I know wrong forum),but 3D only works for people with near perfect vision. I watched Clash of the Titans 3D,don't judge me, was an absolute mess, mostly blurry and busy action scenes. Sooooo no I don't think the Alien series would benefit from a 3D make over,it won't really add any thing.

MemberXenomorphFeb-23-2012 4:47 PMI would have to beg to differ on this argument.....ONLY if it is done right. Not a hatchet rush job where everything is blurring and looks crappy.

MemberOvomorphFeb-23-2012 4:48 PMI am there. If they do it, be sure to do it right, and take your time in doing it. Don't just throw it together really fast. Make it worth while.

F--- it - lets go for it!
MemberOvomorphFeb-23-2012 5:03 PManything that improves the viewing experience should be considered, and think of the potentially amazing visuals that would give the films a new lease of life, im thinking aliens in particular and the more effects/action driven aspects.

MemberOvomorphFeb-23-2012 5:07 PMI hate 3d live action 3d film or at least those produced up till now especially those which were filmed in 2d and forced into 3d!
Blurry and obviously effected. Did anyone see Clash of The Titans in 3d I asked for my money back.

MemberOvomorphFeb-23-2012 6:11 PM@Rick ok you got me there,I did see a clip of Avatar 3D on a 3D tv and it was amazing!!
@Brego I saw clash of the titans too!! it was a bad enough film in 2D!!! 3D just compounded the trauma!!!

MemberOvomorphFeb-23-2012 6:56 PMi have yet to experience any film in 3d and i wear glasses for distance so it really discriminates against us poor buggers that have less than 20/20 vision

MemberOvomorphFeb-24-2012 12:03 AMI LOVE 3D and I am so excited to see Prometheus in 3D. How can you not be excited about seeing what a master like Ridley can do with it?! When the masters use 3D, it just takes everything up a level and immerses you into the story. I don't think this franchise would work well if converted though. It is way too dark and would cost too much money. People might check out the first two, but Fox would lose money if they converted and rereleased III and IV. You really have to plan for 3D, even if converting, for it to work right. That's why Titans was so horrible. They did not plan for it to be in 3D and then rushed the conversion.

MemberOvomorphMar-05-2012 10:34 PMI work at a movie theatre and from what I can tell 3D only ever sells for big kids movies like Kung Fu Panda so I would say that Alien definitely should not be converted to 3D. Plus I've never seen a 3D movie that I actually thought the 3D made a difference with or even looked good. Now if they simply re released the the movies I think that would be awsome. But it'd have to be the original theatrical cut of Alien and the Special Editions of Aliens and Alien 3.
