Courtesy of Alien Prequel News...........British entertainment magazine Empire has a preview of 'Prometheus' containing no new pictures, but the following quote by Sir Ridley: "It's hard to frighten people. I think it is easier to make people laugh. I know Ricky Gervais will tell me to go fuck myself, but actually it is harder to scare. People are numb to it now. You've got to get dramatically cleverer. I've literally applied everything I know to try to make this a good ride, but mostly a guy hanging from the ceiling really fucking works..." Reminds me of the original Alien descending from the ventilator to reach for Harry Dean Stanton. Ridley could be repeating that trick again :)

I presume he's referring to the Punked-up/mutated bloke whose leaps and bounds have provoked much pictorial analysis on here, like some sort of crazed-looking Spiderman. I rather like the idea of Gervais falling victim to something hideous like the Alien and would pay to see such combination of (reputedly) funny and (definitely) scary & gorey...something for the mooted sequel, perhaps.

ya know... "watch the trailer again" is what I would say to people...cause it's blatantly obivous from it... That's LV-426! That's the Derelict and Ridley Scott Showing us how it got there! That's about as Alien Related as anything anywhere anytime ever could get! In fact I do not even think it;s debateable! It's a "Part and Parcel Of The Entire Franchise" film. And I predict it will be first Sci-Fi film in Oscar History and in SAG history to win both Best Picture & Best Director at Both presentations!!!

Hanging from the ceiling huh,.. that's my mating Technique/ritual. I dont know why he refers to gervais as funny the office was ok but everything else he's done is pants now bill hicks theirs a guy lol. Well i think he's referring to the original alien where bret kicks the bucket chasing jonesy around and the xeno is suspended from the ceiling before it lowers itself to attack bret. simplicity works well in that scenario.

@craigamore. lol, not to sound creepy but from Yahoo maps it says your roughly 2hours and 58 minutes from my hometown. So you and Rick are up around the Chicago area.

My favorite place to see a movie is this little theater in downtown Barrington called The Catlow. It's a small, movie palace style place that was built in the 30's. It's beautiful. Detailed wood carvings adorn the walls and ceilings.....It's the first place I ever saw a movie in the theater...'The Jungle Book' I believe................but anyway, they're selective about which films they show on their one screen and I'm praying they play 'Prometheus'. I'm sure I'll have seen it at least once by the time they would show it, but I can't wait to see it there.........that would mean a lot.......

Im wandering whether Holloway's character could have something to do with this quote? He becomes infected, seems ok, sleeps with Shaw, head in hands afterwards because he knows something is wrong..... can't cope - hangs himself. Burried or put into the morgue by the crew, continues to change and turns into crazy mohawke jumping off roof guy....
