MemberOvomorphFeb-28-2012 1:24 PMWTF?
This the viral advertising they said was coming?
Very interesting indeed.
Who is Luke Scott?, Ridley's son?

MemberOvomorphFeb-28-2012 1:27 PMOutstanding find! Thank you so much! Finally, some more footage from Prometheus! Kudos to you!

MemberOvomorphFeb-28-2012 1:27 PMCheck also the site (revealed at the end) weylandindustries.com
It didn't have lots of going on atm though. Checked the privacy policy & terms and conditions: Only Fox stuff, no story fluff.
Me not happy yet :(
"The Investors" are promising more to come though ;)

I don't think this is a scene from the movie, it didn't have the right feel and if you check, it was directed by a Luke Scott.I think it is a viral video.

Engineer Prototype - Model GAJ84
MemberOvomorphFeb-28-2012 1:31 PMAwesome. Looks like those leaked screen test things were for real.

MemberOvomorphFeb-28-2012 1:34 PMAwesome. =D
I hope this is the first small piece of viral advertising for Prometheus. A viral ARG would be nice just to keep us subsisted.

Sir Peter Weyland was born in Mumbai, India at the turn of the Millennium. The progeny of two brilliant parents; His mother, an Oxford Educated Professor of Comparative Mythology, his father, a self-taught software Engineer, it was clear from an early age that Sir Peter’s capabilities would only be eclipsed by his ambition to realize them. By the age of fourteen, he had already registered a dozen patents in a wide range of fields from biotech to robotics, but it would be his dynamic break-throughs in generating synthetic atmosphere above the polar ice cap that gained him worldwide recognition and spawned an empire.
In less than a decade, Weyland Corporation became a worldwide leader in emerging technologies and launched the first privatized industrial mission to leave the planet Earth. “There are other worlds than this one,” Sir Peter boldly declared, “And if there is no air to breathe, we will simply have to make it.”
Bye Bye Avp canon too!
Most excellent, nice one Ridley.

MemberOvomorphFeb-28-2012 1:36 PMThe Imdb.com page for Prometheus is still listing Guy Pearce's character as Stanninson.

MemberOvomorphFeb-28-2012 1:38 PMExcellent, great find. What a nasty piece of work this Weyland character is. Comes across very arrogant indeed!

MemberOvomorphFeb-28-2012 1:43 PMHaha, what "find" - just join Prometheus on Facebook, that´s where it came from :-D

MemberOvomorphFeb-28-2012 1:44 PM@Theusprom: Thanks for the clarification.

At least there's a viral web site to go with the viral video. Clever using TED Talks for context of this video.

MemberOvomorphFeb-28-2012 1:46 PMHere's a little bio about Peter Weyland from the TED Blog:

MemberOvomorphFeb-28-2012 1:50 PMHaha, Visualizer has it correct, I didnt find this (and never claimed I did!)
You all should check the prometheus on FB, that's exactly where this came from.
@Theusprom:
Yea, it's not part of the movie. But it most certainly ties in with the story, and is "Canon"

MemberOvomorphFeb-28-2012 1:52 PMThanks for sharing, that was pretty cool. Hopefully the first of several to come.

MemberOvomorphFeb-28-2012 1:56 PMGoodbye AvP from canon. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

MemberOvomorphFeb-28-2012 1:59 PMFunny fact:

MemberOvomorphFeb-28-2012 2:00 PMI love the momentum and pathos of this clip - looks like we´ll finally get a sci-fi movie with an actual story.

visualizer
MemberOvomorphFeb-28-2012 2:04 PM@Ghorgul I was just about to write that, and I wa just about to write about the clip, but you beat me to the punch on both :-D Respect to you!

MemberOvomorphFeb-28-2012 4:18 PMSTELLAR acting. If we can expect more from Peter's TED address, then awesome! What a great character. Am the only one who happens to think that we DONT need another more elaborate 'trailer'? If we get something like this every few weeks then I will be extremely pleased as a fan.

F--- it - lets go for it!
MemberOvomorphFeb-28-2012 4:42 PMi dont know what would be worse, a slightly more revealing trailer, or continued fan speculation..

aintnozeno
MemberOvomorphFeb-28-2012 9:32 PMIs there confirmation that this isn't in the film? Seems like an awfully large production over nothing more than an ad campaign.
Granted, it WILL create buzz even if it's not in the film...

craigamore
MemberOvomorphFeb-28-2012 10:26 PM@aintnozeno.....According to Empire Magazine...."the footage won’t appear in the film (it was conceived by Scott and Damon Lindelof and directed by Ridley’s son, Luke)...........EMPIREOnline

MemberOvomorphFeb-28-2012 10:49 PMThanks Craigamore. Obviously I got a bit excited and failed to pay attention.
Strange... Wife says I do it all the time.

MemberOvomorphFeb-28-2012 10:59 PMNo worries @aintnozeno.....I had to dig a little for that.
