MemberOvomorphFeb-28-2012 5:03 PMTwo different items I found odd. First, from Peter Weyland's TED bio:
"Sir Peter Weyland was born in Mumbai, India at the turn of the Millennium."
"In less than a decade, Weyland Corporation became a worldwide leader in..."
This throws me off a bit, because Pearce looks his age [44] in 2023.
Clearly he's not 23. Even if he had an accelerated aging disease, he doesn't act 23.
And then on the Weyland Industries site, it says
"CELEBRATING 50 YEARS OF BUILDING BETTER WORLDS."
That would place the date of the Weyland site [in design fiction] no later than 2073.
I thought the Prometheus was launched in 2082 & makes contact in 2085, but not sure if those dates are confirmed.
Thoughts?

MemberOvomorphFeb-28-2012 6:41 PMI can dismiss the age difference as vague writing, but how odd is it that the Weyland website is from 2073, at the latest?

MemberOvomorphFeb-28-2012 7:16 PMthey either do this viral shit right, or they dull the excitement with "vague writing"

MemberOvomorphFeb-29-2012 7:13 PMthe website is supposed to be from 2073, and as a celebration of 50 years of "building better worlds" they showed "a seminal moment in the career of our founder Peter Weyland, this 2023 TED Talk launched Weyland Corp into the international spotlight." so hes 23 in the video, but would be 93 at the time it was posted.
