MemberOvomorphFeb-28-2012 5:46 PMThere are no hints that the SJ is the Prometheus .... and the rappresentation of the Titans as Giants is probably an error ( if you watch all the paints Prometheus isnt bigger than a man )

MemberOvomorphFeb-28-2012 5:48 PMan error? nonsense..they called the titans...they were giants of men...the jockey is about 3 times our size. error? bullshit its an obvious connection

MemberOvomorphFeb-28-2012 6:24 PMI thought "Prometheus" was the name of the ship. The blue man/space jockey is an alien being and not a Titan from Greek mythology.
Size doesn't enter into the discussion. If the space jockeys created man and gave him technology, then that's a better analogy.
Again, 20thcenturybuick types out some random thought without any arguments to defend his ideas. He can't even be bothered to use punctuation or capitalization. I think the admins should ban him from posting to the discussion boards until he can communicate like an intelligent person.

Co-AdminMemberOvomorphFeb-28-2012 8:55 PMHi guys, lets just try to be civil remember please? 20th may have his own views and ideas and is entitled to them just like the rest of us. So perhaps instead of just railing how about asking for a clarification on why he has developed his theory? Personally I can see how he came to that conclusion, but that being said I don't agree that it is an indication of the blue guy being an Engineer. My gut tells me that. That's just my opinion. Just try not to attack people personally when it comes to theories, as that is against the forum's rules.
@Frantz, you are right, but the Titans have also been described as being enormous as well. There are different interpretations of them all over the place.
@GreatBoos, we don't actually know for certain that the ship IS in fact named the Prometheus yet...... Not definitely........ It's been theorized but is still unproven..... As far as I know, but I may not be fully up to date... I'll have a Google around and see if I can find out for certain.

MemberOvomorphFeb-28-2012 9:23 PMJust wanted to say nice job Cypher. Now that is how you moderate! Any computer can lock threads but this is an example why humans are put in the position in the first place. It's to diffuse a potential problem or right a wrong using the tools of clear communication, fairness and understanding.
Hope for more moderation like this and sorry for going OT.

Co-AdminMemberOvomorphFeb-28-2012 9:36 PMThanks BM, I'm doing my best :-P it's a learning curve, but I had a chat with BugHunter about it and there are a few things he's looking at to make it a bit easier for all of us to enjoy the forum :-D

Alien DNA
MemberOvomorphFeb-28-2012 10:07 PMActually Ridley has said that the ship is The Prometheus. That interview with the Hungarian website was in question before, but I think after the viral video today confirming Pearce as Peter Weyland then the rest of the interview should be accurate in where he states the name of the ship.
"The Prometheus is owned by an entrepreneur called Peter Weyland, and is played by Guy Pearce. That's the connection between the two films, and nothing more. Prometheus is a new film, a new world, and is full of new ideas. And of course new monsters as well."
Well, that's assuming that by "The Prometheus" he means the ship............

aintnozeno
MemberOvomorphFeb-28-2012 10:55 PMAgreed "Alien DNA", but that piece was loosely translated per the domestic article. Ridley could have just referenced "the ship".
The only name we've seen on a hull so far is MAGELLAN. Until I see Prometheus down the side of a ship, I'm holding the name as the movie title alone.

Cypher
Co-AdminMemberOvomorphFeb-29-2012 1:30 AMAh yes. Of course :-)
@aintnozeno, where exactly do you see Magellan on a ship's hull? I thought the Magellan name just came from a "synopsis" but if you have seen it I'd love to have a look myself :-)

Cypher
Co-AdminMemberOvomorphFeb-29-2012 5:58 AMYeah I can't say I'm buying the Magellan thing without visual proof....... No offense intended @aintnozeno at all I just haven't seen the name outside of that fake synopsis anywhere else.

Frantz
MemberOvomorphFeb-29-2012 6:06 AMThe name "Magellan" was written over some spaceship pieces that were outside the studios .... in particular was written "Magellan mess hall" ( of course can be just the name of the mess hall !!)

Cypher
Co-AdminMemberOvomorphFeb-29-2012 6:48 AMTrue dat Frantz ;-)

astubbindeck
MemberOvomorphFeb-29-2012 8:00 AMStarting to make sense now...Peter Weyland (perhaps with an aging disease, shown as the old guy in the wheelchair in the trailer) sets out to find the inter-galactic fountain of youth...finds alien relics in the desert, gives clues as to where to start looking, finds the space jockeys, swipes technology, incurs the wrath of the big blue dudes ala the Prometheus mythology.

MemberOvomorphMar-03-2012 2:06 PMi know there is this massive debate about who the sj is or the identity of the blue humanoind. Just thought id point out that in the image of the blue man next to the "chair" there is what appers to be some sort of cryo chamber open on the floor. Possibly this guy/ alien has been woken up to drive the ship?
