Well, I understand what you mean, but also I'm quite pissed off of strange insect style aliens. Or big eyes, big head aliens. The Xenormorph had a VERY unique design, I guess we can expect the same for the SJs.

I'll be happy as long as no one says..."You Complete Me" !!! as Biomechanic first suggested!

yeah..there are many alien designs that are just uncreative and laughable...thats why i appreciated the jockey..i really want to see how the effects team is going to show them as living...just the xenomorphs long head is so unique and alien..its amazing and believable...despite the mouth within the mouth..that is just unrealistic...why would any animal need ANOTHER mouth in its mouthlol wtf..but that head with no eyes..Genius..and very organic and believable.

Hey 20th...look into a moray eel's mouth anatomy...it will give you an insight into what a critter might do with a second set of jaws.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who will be disappointed if the weird and wonderful sj corpse we have come to know and love is just a suit. It's not like the bio-mechanical suit idea hasn't been done, done and done. Like 20th says what a tremendous let down if that's all the sj's are.

Listen, I'm just relieved that it's now looking unlikely that Noomi Rapace will be seen to be the 'Spacejockey', as that was my initial fear when I first heard of Ridley Scott's 'spacesuit' concept! I really didn't want her to end up as the supposed originator of the 'warning beacon' in a giant protective 'suit'...
So at least the bald, muscular figure seen in the trailer is a big step up from that worry, as far as I'm concerned, lol! That's *if* he even turns out to be an actual true 'Spacejockey' that is. I still hold out hope that the fossilized 'skull' seen in the original is actually the remains of an otherwordly skull from something yet unseen, and NOT a 'helmet'...even if the rest of him is supposedly a type of 'suit'.

I do not want it to be an oversized human either. I did see a side by side pic where it showed a zoomed in pic of the giant humanoid being and compared it to the giant Human head shrine. They are strikingly very similar.

Just for the sake of argument.....if the SJ's technology is biomechanically based, why would they have to look exactly like what we saw in "Alien".... all of the time? If they've incorporated biomechanical technology within themselves, ( which would make perfect sense, given that they're presumably highly advanced ) they might very well look somewhat different, depending on what they're doing.......If one were to interface biomechanically with the ship, we might expect them to look somewhat different when that occurs, as opposed to when they're simply moving around. In the context of a biomechanical technology, wouldn't it make sense for form to follow function?

I think I would be a little let down if the SJs are giant humans, but I love that the subject of ancient astronauts is brought up. I love it so much that I could deal this...

Yeah totally agree. As I said in another thread, you can cop-out by having aliens that look like humans. Just like Star Trek, where they're all more ideal human than humans! But you can go too far the other way and bring in a 2-year-old as creature designer (as I'm sure they did on Star Wars prequels) where there seems to be no attention paid to how an intelligent life form would evolve physiologically. Personally, I think the SJs should be humanoid but not human.
But what would be worse for me is if they spoke English!

whats truely disturbing is if you watch avp r the predators opening shot is him sitting very simalarly like a space jockey. boy i hope i dont hear the words alien with pretator in the same sentence again

I'm getting tired of every sfi movie having the same spider looking / cricket creatures.
