MemberOvomorphFeb-28-2012 5:53 PMWell, if the acting in the film is of this calibre, then I'm stoked up even more now.
I've never seen Guy Pearce in a performance before of any kind and he had my full attention there. What a fantastic sounding actor! I mean it, I'm expecting nothing less than this quality from a Ridley Scott film. The speech is very portentous and chilling in light
of what we all know this conlgomeration of wealth and technology may lead up to.
Roll on June!

MemberOvomorphFeb-28-2012 7:17 PMAnd apparently his speech is NOT going to appear in the film as confirmed by one of the writers of the Prometheus script, Damon Lindelof:

MemberOvomorphFeb-28-2012 9:14 PMYeah I'm really excited. Guy Pierce sucked me into his speech right from the start. Great acting. I can't expect anything less.

I agree, that 2023 TED is one of the best true-fictions I have ever seen!
I am suprised you haven''t heard of Guy Pearce........google "Momento""
My mother, Helena, is 88 and lives in Middle Park and has often spoken to Guy and says he is a young, humble genleman who is down to earth and loves the Espy!

MemberOvomorphFeb-29-2012 8:26 AMThere's a first time for everything and me being no spring chicken,
I'm a bit slow when it comes to the lowdown on all these Hollywood new crop
of actors I'm afraid. I like it when a complete unknown to me just blows me
away with a SOLID performance like that. It may be because I've been weaned
on the greats such as Richard Burton, Anthony Hopkins, John Hurt (whom Pearce
sounded a lot like in that clip btw) and Olivier who have totally commanding and
captivating voices. Never mind muffled, sloppy 'method' dialogue, this is proper
acting and really sets the tone for my expectations now. Not saying the rest of the
cast should strut around with lines in this fashion, but I wholly trust each will bring
their own brand of acting QUALITY equal to this, quite possibly making the film
as a whole a truly fantastic and refreshing film experience. No more moronic dialogue
for heaven's sake! This may usher in a new crop of films catering to the more discerning
amongst us, please God.
