IS Weyland a crewmember?

MemberOvomorphFebruary 29, 20121110 Views16 RepliesThere's this sick/old/decrepit crew member seated in the medlab, as well as being escorted behind the "shooters" in the trailer. Could this be a 90 or 100 year old Weyland? Discuss!

From what I gather Guy's filming wasn't very long, a day or so. In this day of computer mutilation though it might not mean anything, however Mr. Scott doesn't like cgi from what I hear. That would make it difficult I would think.

This has already been brought up for purpose of post clutter maybe we should keep it Here

And in that vein, any objections to this one being locked?

Yeah don't lock it. Lets get some fresh input in here. Someone esse mentioned that PW has a rapid aging disease so that could be him in the wheel chair

well being that the speech takes place in 2023 and prometheus's mission is taking place in 2085, that old man we see behind the gunmen could possibly be peter weyland.

An elderly Peter Weyland could be played by an actor other than Guy Pearce. And you don't need CGI to make an actor looking convincingly old. I think Peter Weyland is aboard the Prometheus. The shots of an elderly man in the trailer seem to bare out this theory. And Tallon1138, if the elderly crew member isn't Peter Weyland, then who is it?

I've been looking at the photos and it could very conceivably be Guy Pearce. It's a pretty good reason the mercs and scientists are clustered around that old-looking guy protectively......... It's the nose, mouth, and creases on the side of the mouth of both that give me that impression.

I say that it's an absolute impossibility. I say this because of the timeline but anything is possible. Weyland would have been much younger at this time 30+ some odd years before Ripley was born. That's my thinking anyways.

I think I must digress, my speculation was based on what I had heard about Mr. Pearce's filming dates, the film scenes do seem to bear out it could indeed be Mr. Weyland.

I think these photos might help a bit they show very similar facial structure points including the bags under the eyes, the nose and the creases in the cheeks by the mouth and nose.

I think the similarities are too much for coincidence and its seems to fit well with the plot or at least what we know so far i mean..

Weyland died before the alien citadel was discovered on the partially terraformed planet. An android in his image was created to assist the Prometheus crew.
