Prometheus The Movie's FB page, and read about the brand
new trailer that is set to premiere this coming St.Patrick's Day,
it got me to thinking about what NEW images will be revealed,
it how will they affect ALL of the numerous hypothesis that have
been discussed on these boards for months now
i am a bit weary to see too much imagery,
at the same time, i'm pretty much going a bit bonkers waiting
for June to roll around, so i will be a bit ambivalent to see the
new trailer when it goes online, but i don't think i can fend
off the temptation to see it
i just wish it would premiere on iTunes sooner, rather than later

I think we all will be holding our mouths and then on here ASAP discussing it and then replaying it over and over. Going to be interesting to see the footage and the story arc somewhat revealed...

The 3/17/12 is invite only right. No memtion of public release right? No Fox movie release until 3 stooges in April. Could it be attached to viral or a Disney flick?

The trailer will be released the same day right after the panel discussion on the 17th. Check AMC theater FB page, iTunes and You Tube. As well as here I'm sure!

Earlier today, a viral image revealed more questions than answers as to what the heck this movie is going to be all about. AMC Theatres’ website will be holding a live Q&A session with Sir Ridley Scott and screenwriter Damon Lindelof on Saturday, March 17th at 7pm EST.
The Q&A will also include the premiere of the full trailer for the film, which will be simulcast on Facebook and Twitter. The AMC website is also accepting questions for Sir Ridley that he will be answering during the broadcast.

So glad we will have something on the 17th!! I have been dying to see something to sate my curiosity and keep me pumped. Though I am sure I would have been pumped to the big day even if they did not release anyting else.

I don't want too much given away either, but I know I won't be able to hel;p myself...Hell, I'm on here every single day and, simultaneously searching for new tidbits on the web we may have missed...I'm too involved not to watch.

I've scanned a number of article Ripley Clone 8 and it appears that's the assumption.....

As stated, I think that trailer we will see will be a re-cut of the leaked trailer that we saw. Some elements taken away as others are not, remember we will have 3 months or so after, so I can imagine Scott wants to keep some things off the grid but will give us images and scenes that will make our months water and be eager to see the film and I would imagine we will see more activity on the Weyland site picking up between now and then or, after the trailer is released so more information can be released on the Weyland site...

you all have a pretty good grasp of
what could possibly take place on the 17th
i do think it will most likely be a recut version
that was shown at Comicon last year (possibly)
in any case, i am REALLY looking forward to
what we are all in store for, both this new trailer
and of course the film itself
lots of feedback from you guys, you all RAWK!

@craigamore, just looked at a few articles and your right. Very neat. Ridley will also be doing a 30 minute Q&A after the premiere of the trailer on March 17th. Neato! Can't wait!

I know.....I almost wish they hadn't told us ten days out.......gonna drive me nuts...

ReeceMacoyMarch 08, 2012
good point, its gonna be a long 10 days lol, hopefully we get another picture between now & then.

alteredstate.March 08, 2012
I think the Q AND A will be fascinating but can ridley and lindelof answers be vague enough to not let slip the details i think we will be hearing you will have to wait to see the film a few times .

IMHO trying to create a synopsis of the story fof Prometheus from the existing trailer is a lot like creating scientific theories. Use evolution for instance; we can only "link" events in the evolutionary process together (using various accepted scientific methods) by the evidence we've uncovered thus far. We have to adapt and sometimes discard whole theories based on new findings that contradict accepted theories. For instance if we suddenly unearthed the fossilized remains of an 10 ft. elephantine, bio-mechanical, bi-pedal creature, our existing theories would be greatly impacted.
I have no problem re-adjusting our many and varying hypothesis if the new trailer inclines us to do so. It's not so much about getting it right. It's the process of getting there, the exploration of the storyline's possibilites, that is the payoff. I hope the movie is completely different from anything I have imagined thus far.
