Elba Says Prometheus Is Depending On Secrecy !

The Wire star Elba revealed in an interview with Huffington Post that the movie depended on the secrecy surrounding it. He said: 'This particular film - Twentieth Century Fox and Ridley Scott have been very, very diligent about keeping a lid on it. But, I know exactly why - because the film depends on that. It needs that. It needs you to not know. 'See, if you told me, even though people think they want to know, they don't really want to know.' Elba added: 'Because it's a shocker, isn't it? It's a shocker and the anticipation of a great filmmaker like Ridley Scott is part of the draw. 'Like, what is he going to do next? What's that about? And the more he cloaks it in, "There's something I can't tell you yet," it makes it more intriguing. 'And anyone that has that shortcut, "Well, I heard it was this," it's cheating.'

Totally agree. I hope the new trailer does not reveal too much either. I don't want to know. I'll have M at work see it and let me know if it reveals too much. If so, I won't watch it. I would rather go into the theater on the 8th with pretty much a clean slate as to what's going on. I'm going to start to distance myself once I know other country's release dates for the movie have arrived. So I won't be here end of May :) "You now have T-minus 5 minutes to reach minimum safe distance"

Too true. It's likely I won't even watch the new trailer when it comes out. I'll have to find a way to stave off the fiending, because there's a point at which I *don't* want to know more. It's kind of like when I saw Pi for the first time. My friend hands me the DVD case and says, "Watch this." No idea what it was, I didn't even read the back of the case, went in completely cold. Commence head-explody.

Ah Pi - what a brilliant film. If you liked that Jones, try "Primer" thrice the exploding head sensation and sorta has the same look about it.

Primer and pi sounds like two films i need to check out. I have a feeling i may have seen pi not sure was a while ago if i did but primer definitely not. idris is a damn good actor i loved the wire still haven't seen the third season though but he was fine in american gangster and pretty much everything else i seen him in.

I have to admit that it's getting close to the point where I just want to stick my fingers in my ears and shout LA LA LA LA LA. I may not visit the forum again after next weeks trailer release, as I don't want to know about, see or hear anything that'll spoil the movie for me.

I'm looking forward to the new trailer. I don't think they'll give away too much in the new trailer unless its over analyzed especially when it needs its secrecy. Like others have posted I will start limiting my access to this site. I don't mind speculation or viral marketing, but that's about it.

I hope they put enough in the trailer to slighty debunk stuff they are reading from the fans to throw things some more but don't give out anything major just little bits like the teaser drip feeding you images and puzzling us some more there is nothing better than keeping people guessing.... If you understand the saying somtimes the journey is greater than the destination itself but I'm hoping for more a good Journey but a great destination Yep Primer and Pi I have both of those films in my collection good to know there are other people that appreciate more obscure movies on here too

I can't wait for the new trailer, yet like some people have alreadt written I don't want it to give any answers, just more questions. I like the suspense in not knowing what is going to happen in this film and when it finally comes out in the cinema I want to walk in not knowing what to expect.
