The antithesis of Mollo's/Moebius designs for Alien and (admittedly)
more practical and realistic? Even down to the elbow-pads. The costume
designs dept must've done exhaustive research at the behest of Sir Ridley
to get maximum authenticity.

Cooool! and here's all of us thinking the suits lacked realism.
We still haven't been able to guess whay there is 2 suits though. Maybe we'll know more on Saturday.
Just watched Planet of the Vampires on Youtube, and I noticed the bonnet-caps of their black and yellow leather outfits are not too dissimilar to those yellow ones worn by the crew in Prometheus.
