Hey Guys and Gals, I think this screenshot at 1:37-38 kind of says it all. Anyone else notice the demon head at the top and how the arms of the xeno look really humanish?

its much thinner too, but you can make out the legs, arms also has a pretty thin stomach, but the head looks pretty big. but i wonder if this in fact an alien or statue like the human head, obviously im hoping its a real xeno. also i remember what Ridley said about us seeing a progenitor (ancestor) of the alien species. could this be what he was talking about??? heres to hoping.

Its obviously a Xeno growing, in response to the human prey (probably design to kill humans). Totally awesome shot.

I don't know where this is at in the movie. But I recall Noomi saying something about the wall changing in the trailer it could be this forming from the wall. I knew there would be something with nanotech which I think is behind the changes.

I agree with you. I wonder if humans were turned into xeno's through jockeytech.

I was thinking more on the lines of maybe the sj's have built a bio weapon that takes on traits of the infected species with the specific and designed intention that the product becomes the perfect adversary....if that run on sentence makes any sense. So the xeno is not new, but the xeno that we know of, birthed by a human would be new.

That actually makes a lot of sense when you take into account that scuttled they Prometheus to keep the derelict from taking off. Fassbender said it was on its way to Earth to destroy everything. That would also be a good way to keep young civilizations from expanding. Kill them off and you have more space for yourself.

What about at the start with the guy looking at his hand with the black stuff moving on his head and arm?

Bio, I think you are right as well. I don't put it past Ridley to have a dual running theme here. That would be the perfect way to kick off a new franchise. We infect them, they infect us, and the jockeys won't have that going on so they leave to take out Earth.

I buy it...would this infection have anything to do with the green gel?..yes? The picture on the wall seems to show a xeno of some sort and that is an image from long before we get there, wouldn't you think? So the sjs have to know what the xeno is, right? They must know what their "stuff" does to a species.

Simply put the dark matter is the current state of the bio-weapon. A human adversary will produce a humanoid xeno, a predator gives you a pred-alien, etc, etc. I guess the egg/facehugger is the final product. The egg being the stasis chamber for the refined bio-weapon.

Nrl, I don't think the green gel is anything but a suspension, I could be wrong though. I think its whats in the containers that's in the green gel that is inside the urns. This falls back to the novelization in Alien. Cypher, I think its blue, not black. I think that's how the blue guy is made, he's actually changed.

Lol I thought I was the first person to see this! lol I showed my sister and she was like, "how can they deny that this is a prequel?" On another note, I think I spotted a face hugger at 2:04... (Hope a thread hasn't been started about this one, too) :-P

@ Rick. I'm with ya on the green vs blue vs black thing. I can totally see how the green stuff just holds the product. I guess the life cycle is as yet slightly confusing. Ring that we haven't really seen it happen yet, but it stands to reason that the truth may lie in the middle. Biomechanic mentions the nanotechnology aspect, which may very well be the beginning of the process. Where mekja states that the egg is simply the end of the process, so that the weapon can lay in wait...

Hicks i think it was the alien chestburster after being removed Nrl im not sure the alien on the wall is a scene long before we get there, i think its a statue maybe but you see a light being shined on it much like the flashlights being shined on the big human head

I think the ship/temple can construct an alien much like the way a human body produces species specific antibodies in response to foreign infection, all the raw material already pulses through the veins of the architecture, so it could build anything it had a dna schematic of, the human body identifies pathogens with its immune system perhaps a face hugger is like a exploratory tool that has gone feral

@reece. No, I meant that it was probably on the wall long before they got there. I think your right, shaws shinining a light right on it and doesn't she ask the ship if they are seeing it?

I think the nanotech starts all the changes and gets things going. I mean you can see it go into the guys eye looks like silver mercury that moves on its own. It makes the changes and then from their I think its biological trying to imitate mechanical from there and that's how the facehugger comes in. It would be like Ridley to flip the tables on us since everything is always "mechanical trying to imitate biological ie androids". But that's just my theory.
