MemberOvomorphMar-20-2012 8:32 PMguys...... i think its a runway for the derelict. besides the fact that there is more then one temple, look at how straight it is.

Rick
MemberXenomorphMar-20-2012 8:33 PMzim,
The derelict is launched from under ground straight up

i know its underground but from what we have seen it looks like it is pushed up to the surface, levitates, then flies down the runway getting more momentum to go up. i mean we see the ground opening and the ship prepping, but we don't see actually take off do we?

How do you envision this as a runway?
Someone else needs to verify this photo please...

MemberXenomorphMar-20-2012 8:52 PMHey zim really does work for Cheezburger doesnt he :P
I see what you are saying now. Yeah could be multiple hangars of those. So the question remains why aren't the other ships launching?

MemberOvomorphMar-20-2012 8:55 PMIn the pic which Prometheus is landing. Can anyone else see top right side corner lots of housing at the hillside? Like an old city? Maybe im seeing things, too late for this should be in bead already. ^ ^

Rick
MemberXenomorphMar-20-2012 9:02 PMI dunno I'm looking way up to the right and not seeing it. I see a bunch of broken ledges, and Nazca style lines just to the right, but that's it. But hey Bio caught a squid coming out of Shaw yesterday and I couldn't see it, if that says anything.

Rick
MemberXenomorphMar-20-2012 9:03 PMZim,

MemberOvomorphMar-20-2012 9:26 PMActually, the REAL question is... which one is already missing a ship?

danrald
MemberOvomorphMar-20-2012 9:28 PMdtrisml,

MemberOvomorphMar-20-2012 10:27 PMYes, I definitely see multiple temples. I know others have said maybe each one is for a different species created on different planets. Also, if you look at the "Nazca" type patterns, they look like the launch pads from where the derelict rises out of the ground. From the trailer you can see, at least one ship rises up from right in front of the temple. (1:52 on the US Trailer) Also, adjacent to this shot is what I believe to be an overhead shot of the star map room's floor opening as the telescope and jockey seat begin to rise. But I digress.
Multiple pads means multiple ships to me. I believe after one ship is destroyed a secondary ship may launch and end up crashing later on LV-426.
Alternatively, Prometheus may cause the first derelict to crash, but the Engineers may repair it enough to launch again and end up crashing on LV-426 enroute to earth. The beacon would be sent to attract earthlings to eventually take the xenomorphs back to earth willingly or unwillingly to exterminate humankind.
I just don't believe the crash of the derelict is the climax. Likewise I don't believe the planet featured is LV-426. Based on Scott's comments, I'm not even convinced this film will reference LV-426 or what happened there. I think it will just tell the story of the Spacejockeys and it will incorporate elements Scott wanted in 1979 but wasn't able to get due to budget constraints.

MemberOvomorphMar-20-2012 10:28 PMWhen i blow the picture up it looks to me like you can see the outline of the derelict ship in the ground before the first temple, how abut any one else?

MemberOvomorphMar-20-2012 10:39 PMOK, I have squinted at the pic for a bit and I don't see anything templish.

MemberOvomorphMar-20-2012 10:46 PM@Jinxjanx,
Where again? Can you draw something up?
@Outlander (My favorite Sean Connery movie),
Ya, I get your drift and believe the same thing.. But I just noticed something that you pointed out. The planet apparently has low gravity... you see Shaw jumping after the ground opens up, she's jumping down.. Know what she is jumping on too??? Guess!!! You can see the Derelict right under the ground as it opens up.. lol... She's actually tackling the Derelict!

MemberOvomorphMar-20-2012 10:46 PMBio, I am with you except I need some help on one part. The plague that Shaw gives birth to is not related at all to the face hugger? i tend to think that what ever Shaw delivers will have a direct link to our Xeno family.

danrald
MemberOvomorphMar-20-2012 10:54 PM@Biomechanic,
And that is why the Nostromo was sent to LV-426, to get the creature that Peter Weyland and David genetically engineered to kill the Space Jockey. The Xeno is used for warfare, but mostly to defeat the Space Jockey, if we ever go to war with them.. lol.

MemberOvomorphMar-20-2012 11:11 PMDanrald,
Thanks for the picture . I think it shows what I am seeing . You can see from your shot the derelict erupting up from the ground. In the back ground you can see the temple/ I think the derelict ship is huge in size compared to the temple. Now look at the first shot of Prometheus approaching the temples. I think you can make out the two top portions of the horseshoe of the derelict ship. It is to the right of prometheus and to the right and in front of the Temple.
