Suddenly dawned on me that I have been presuming that the fossilised SJ in Alien is the result of something happening in Prometheus. Why should that be true? Perhaps there are a number of SJ chairs on the spacecraft and the one in Prometheus is not the same chair from Alien. Perhaps we will see the fossilised SJ in the chair from Alien again in Prometheus.

What if the suit was already fossilised?

I'm hoping that's the case scrounger in all honesty ;-) I always wanted to know how THAT guy ended up there in the first place. I thought it would have been hectic........ ;-)

I think its obvious that that isn't going to be the case - RS has already said that there is enough open questions for a sequel, I don't think we're going to see any neat dovetailing into Alien.

In James Cameron's ALIENS we are introduced to the idea that a Queen Alien laid eggs, humans are harvested by adult aliens for impregnation by face huggers. The original idea from the first ALIEN film was that when a host was cocooned, they go through a kind cellular metamorphosis and transform into the next egg containing a new face hugger. If we assume (yes we all know what that breaks down to), the only 'victim' of a chest burst is the Space Jockey in his chair (telescope?) and if the idea of the mutation/transformation idea is correct, then all his crew became the eggs at the bottom of the ship and the alien that burst from his chest was the creature that cocooned the others. What exactly happened to that creature is anyone's guess. Once on board the Nostromo, we have Kane who is the chest burst victim and later (in the director's cut) Ripley finds Dallas cocooned. He is already going through that metamorphosis before she flames him and the nest. Just a theory based on what information is available from the extras on the ALIEN Anthology Blu-ray Disc [6 disc] set.

There's no reason to believe that the other eggs won't hatch. The first ship looked like the eggs were cargo. the Nostromo crew stopped after they found the egg chamber due to Kane's accident. There may well have been ampules on that ship

Safe? Of course he isn't safe, but he's good!

Well we know he's using Cameron's idea's as well. Maybe both forms of reproduction will be present.
I may work for the company, but im really an OK guy.
