You could see the temple of the bottom left corner & what looks like a downed craft on the bottom right. The crash shown assumed to be Prometheus ramming into the Derelict but it is not quite visible there. If Prometheus is up there, what craft lying on the bottom right?

I'm guessing it's Vickers' escape pod... look closely you can see an open door hatch on the top right.

maby its one of the landveichles? it almost looks like it has a cannon of some sort on top tough?
ALIENS THINK HUMANS ARE ALIENS

If you look at the IMAX trailer, at about 1:03 you can see a brief closeup of what appears to be the Prometheus running into the side of something that has a similar construction to "the derelict".

EnderMarch 23, 2012
I dont think it's the escape pod, would there be time for it to land and settle before the Prometheus hit the Derelict? Dont think so
Magellan maybe?

BiomechanicMarch 23, 2012
What Megellan?
The Prometheus was pretty far away from the derelict when you see the pod ejected. I think it is that pod

ApolloMarch 23, 2012
Thats it.... I cant take it anymore. Never before have i been so excited about a movie, honestly. Today and everyday is getting harder. Now we know there are more temples, does that mean more derelicts, does that mean more Space Jockeys, who are the bad guys, is there an alien, is there not an aliens, what is this what is that........ Bang !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...................................... cant take it any more lol just thought i would share that mind explosion with you.

EnderMarch 23, 2012
Isn't there talk of another ship involved in the whole shenanigans? ie. the Magellan. The mercenery ship possibly? Extremely speculative.
I obviously could be wrong but I really dont think the EEV could eject and land safely before the Prometheus @ full throttle hit the SJ ship.

BiomechanicMarch 23, 2012
I have never found proof of a ship called Magellan
How do you spell Magellan
Sorry the picture there is temporarily gone it was just a picture of Janek's cap that definitely does not say Magellan.

EnderMarch 23, 2012
Well we know Janeks ship is called Prometheus and there is no proof I can find of the Magellan but as they say...... no smoke without a fire.
Just thinking about it now - If Vickers is running to the escape pod, ejecting and landing on the surface. It CANT be the same crash that her and Shaw are seen running on the surface of the planet to avoid?

BiomechanicMarch 23, 2012
The Prometheus may have not rammed the derelict until the pod was safety on the ground. After landing Vickers and Shaw could have even ran a bit toward the derelict as it moves toward them trying to maintain lift. It finally crashes and rolls over them. The whole thing is odd really but that's what I gather but you could be right there could be some other ship somewhere.

I don't know if there is another thread for the comment I'm about to make, but the
SJ ship in Prometheus is NOT the derelict from Alien. The navagator "turntable" platform in Alien is completely different from what we have seen in Prometheus, i.e. no stasis pods or control panels.
This moon does not have the same geology as LV-426 either

BiomechanicMarch 23, 2012
How can you not know if this is the right thread? Did you not even try to read a little?
Getting tired that every thread today is about how this is not the derelict from alien and that it is not LV-426. Truth is it could go either way.

Pvt. HudsonMarch 23, 2012
The fact is NO ONE can say it's NOT LV-426. NO ONE can say it's NOT the derelict craft from the 1979 movie. The only people who CAN say that aren't going to say it.

Can't blame people for wanting this new movie to hold true to what has already happened in the Alien Universe. If this is the same planet and ship, then it hasn't and some people don't like that. What's wrong with people having that opinion if they want? We can see the platform of the Space Jockey isn't the same in Alien as in Prometheus, also the size is a big difference in the two movies. Some of us just want things to add up right and have continuity between the two movies.

This is from the new TV Spot #2. That is clearly a second ship while the chase is on-going. It can't be the escape pod. Way too big.

EGR101March 23, 2012
@Pvt Hudson
This topic is not about whether the planet is LV 426. It is about the presence of second ship.
