MemberOvomorphMar-26-2012 10:45 PMHi all, well, I do not know if this has already been discussed but I've noticed some differences between the Space Jockey Pometheus and the original Alien.

1) We can see that in the original 1979 version head rises above the start of the chair (see red line). On the other hand we can also note that the shoulder of the SJ is at the same level of the beginning of the chair (green line). And notice in the arms, are really huge.

2) In the new version we see a creature much smaller with much shorter arms.
I'm not sure, but I think the Prometheus suit may be in use by some human or android (¿Shaw or David?)
Another possibility is that the tall guy is not as big as we have been thinking, you may just be a mutated human. I'm beginning to believe that the SJ Allen is a true giant, instead what we see in the trailer is just a human being.
Now what are your thoughts on this?

MemberOvomorphMar-26-2012 11:00 PMI think the difference you see are due to the second picture being of the later generation sports model and the first picture being of the stripped down economy edition, hence the overall crappier appearance of the ship in the first picture.
Also...and this should be quite obvious...the economy edition shipped without essential safety features such as a lack of back-up generator for the built-in refrigerator unit to keep the eggs cold during transit.

MemberOvomorphMar-26-2012 11:23 PM@Shambhala: Shaw doesn't become a small SJ, but Holloway does. However, we don't know if he grows to giant size or not. However, do you remember how the original ALIEN grew from chestburster into big ALIEN in a matter of hours? Perhaps Holloway goes through the same type of metamorphosis and grows bigger...

MemberOvomorphMar-27-2012 1:49 AMThe jockey is not completely in the 2 seconds we saw in the trailer. It is still growing and forming around the host. Wait to see the finished product.
It's amazing how many people call foul on a scene that isn't even close to being complete. It's a out of context flash that you have to run frame by frame to even see what is happening to it. Just wait.
