2 Ships ... 2 Crash locations?

MemberOvomorphMarch 27, 20122291 Views38 RepliesThere's been discussion about 2 derelict ships. What if they both take off and Prometheus crashes one but the other one makes it but is somehow damaged...does that one crash on LV-426? :)

You made a correct statement - we see no evidence. It doesn't mean there's no second one.

A lot of people REALLY wants this movie to lead directely to the first Alien movie.
Ridley Scott has said on numerous occasions that he wants us (The audience) the wiew this film as a standalone feature. It will have strands of "alien DNA" sure.
Its not impossible that there is a second ship, but i doubt it.
If the space jockeys are this old race, creators of man and so on, its also not impossible that they are spread out all over the universe either. LV426 could be lightyears away from the planet we see in prometheus.
ALIENS THINK HUMANS ARE ALIENS

Being that the movie takes place in the same system Zeta II Reticuli. The planet IS LV-426 and THAT IS the derelict from Alien. Nough said... move on.

Hehe, it was just a thought. No matter what happens I will be VERY happy with this movie. I feel like a 10 year old waiting to go to Disneyland.

Seeing that there are at least 4 to 5 temples then that could mean that there are 4 to 5 ships. A ship for each temple so maybe Prometheus crashes into one but then another one takes off from a different temple. Which could mean that there could be a SJ keeping the nightlight on for each temple. Still curious to see if Shaw and the others investigate the other temples. Can't wait!!

I think it will be the same ship. Otherwise it would mean that the SJ always had created the ALIEN / xenomorphs long before the Prometheus crew arrived.
WHY?
Because the mural seen in the trailer and now being used as banner for the Prometheus trailers section here clearly shows the ALIEN / xenomorph.
As they have created a mural about that species, that would mean they existed
before the prometheus crew touched / experimented with the content of the ampules.
In that case, it is possible that there are more than one SJ space ship and the one crashlanded on LV 426 in ALIEN could be another vessel loaded with thousands
of ALIEN eggs.

Can we please stop referring to this ship as a "derelict"? It's apparently occupied, so by definition the word does not apply:
World English Dictionary
derelict (ˈdɛrɪlɪkt)
— adj
1. deserted or abandoned, as by an owner, occupant, etc
2. falling into ruins; neglected; dilapidated
3. neglectful of duty or obligation; remiss
— n
4. a person abandoned or neglected by society; a social outcast or vagrant
5. property deserted or abandoned by an owner, occupant, etc
6. a vessel abandoned at sea
7. a person who is neglectful of duty or obligation
[C17: from Latin dērelictus forsaken, from dērelinquere to abandon, from de- + relinquere to leave]

LV426JGFPM: I totaly agere with you. Why is it so hard for people to fathom this? It only makes sense that the story takes place on LV-426 since this is the place where it all began. It may be a stand-alone movie but that doesn't mean it isn't going to tell us what happened up to the point where the first Alien movie took off. Ridley knows that people want to know how that derelect ended up crashing and how the SJ wounded up with a big hole in its ribcage. If this wasn't the case Ridley would be missing a huge opportunity to tell an untold story which we all want answers to. Besides there are a lot more evidence that points to this being LV-426 than some unknown planet.

I can totally see where you are coming from, but let me give you some advice from past experience. It is futile to argue with snorkie, he is only willing to see his viewpoint and his viewpoint only (legend in his own mind syndrome), so wash your hands of it, and enjoy theory debates about this film with other open-minded individals.

HAHAHA, 2nd warning? -can't we all just get along and enjoy the creative minds and ideas of others? I love you snorks, I am definately entertained on this public fan site. no need for censorship of free thinkers my friend.
what's your opinion on the S/J population? four? dozens spread out across the universe?
March 27, 2012
i been watching the 2 teaser trailers where ripley is commenting on the film from back in december and i think and hope that we don't know the half of it. he's a smart director and filmmaker, i think there's gonna be a lot of suprises. but i do remember seeing a shot when prometheus is landing and you can see about 4 mounds or temple, so Pvt. Hudson might be right if those other mounds contain another ship. i just don't remember where i saw that scene.

@Pvt Hudson,
I posted on a different thread my idea of more than one S/J ship. and the idea of redundancy where the ship in prometheus gets collided by the prometheus and is unable to make it's journey to Earth, so another one from elsewhere has to pick up the job and complete and could possibly have david on board and ends up off course becoming the derelict on lv-426. we'll know for sure in 72 days!!

Plus I read somewhere that the alien ship in prometheus has no "eggs" and the derelict had thousands. Soooo.....??
