Don't dare me, my friend. I am all for tying the Alien mythos into contemporary religion... the results would probably get the wrong people all hot and bothered however.

...well...best them all be ready. This mythos is going to turn all the religions upside down if they actually take the time to understand it.

Judging from the importance given to iconography elsewhere in the trailers, IMO this similarity is intentional and purposeful. Possible meanings? What about depicting the Xenomorph as: (i) a son of God / the Gods?; and (ii) a creature that will be reborn (an omen in this case)?; or even (iii) an entity that will sacrifice itself for a higher purpose?
