MemberOvomorphMar-29-2012 8:25 AM@ Gem]n[.......you obviously have a keen eye for detail therefore what are your thoughts on the 2 different craft shown in the December trailer and in the March trailers?
All acknowledgements go to @snorkelbottom as he/she was the first to point out the differences........the original post is under @snorkelbottom ...."the derelick is the Sj ship"".........however I disagree with snorkle that this change in ship structure is post production.....I beleive it is deliberate.........there are 2 distinct space-ships ........ship 1 get rammed and ship 2 ends up on LV426.

MemberOvomorphMar-29-2012 1:41 PMYes ,I believe two different ships. That the SJ rooms and chairs look very different from each other has convinced me of this long ago.
And I'm not so sure the ship in Alien is actually crashed. It could have been landed when trouble starts, as happens with commercial airliners.

MemberOvomorphMar-29-2012 8:57 PMOne recent still from a trailer basically proved that there are at least 5 different temples, more or less identical in appearance to the temple we have seen so far. That of course begs the question of whether or not a separate ship is associated with each different temple.
I'm not entirely sold on the "multiple SJ ship" theory, but I will concede that there is a distinct possibility of more than one.

You got me on that one ... what I have noticed though and probably backs up the theory about post production, is there are a lot of differences with ALL of the effects that are going on in both trailers ... actually the continuity of ALL the trailers show some slight changes and differences to the shapes/sizes and FX of what we are actually seeing ...
I saw in one trailer the stunt wires still showing when, whoever it is, walks and jumps to the ground off the big vehicle ... then in another trailer the wires have been taken out ... so personally i am thinking they're still tinkering with the FX ready for the big screen ...
But I'd like it to be 2 Derelicts for sure ... twice the punch ...

MemberTrilobiteMar-30-2012 5:57 AMIt is definitely a change made in post production, you can tell so by the ground below.

Yeah I totally missed that 'spot' in the trailers too ... damn ... good eye ...
Glad you replied, as I didn't think people could see older post that easily ... didn't know how they could, as the posts get shoved down the list to quickly ... saves posting it again though ;) ...
Here's my assumption of those images ... and yes I totally agree it's Post production stuff ...
Anyhow ... this is for Zues mainly ...
EDITED:
The way the ships settles on the ground will have consequences ... if the ship (in recent UK Trailer) falls to the right we're ok ... and we could have 2 Derelict ships ...
If it falls to the left then it has an Alien tie in ... it will then look like the SAME ship in Alien ... and so only one derelict ship is involved ...
To be honest I'm hoping the ship gets completely smashed so no tie-in's are possible ... therefore open for a second ship for Alien ... and that theory goes with the possibility that the SJs MUST have a fleet of ships (for Gods sake) ...
I can also see that this may not be plausible as in 2 ships in the same system crash ... but they ARE 30 some odd years apart no? ... the one in Alien may crash land at a later date than Prometheus ...
Also whatever is powering the warning signal in Alien, that would've died long ago IF it was the same warning signal set off in Prometheus (if there is going to be one set off in Prometheus mind) ... now that would be one hell of a battery ... with a 30 year charge ...

MemberOvomorphMar-30-2012 9:42 PMThat SJ ship was just rammed by another very massive vessel, then fell thousands of feet to the ground and absolutely no damage is obviously apparent. Its' technology is clearly light-years beyond our understanding of materials science, engineering, etc. An energy source that lasts for 30 years is relative child's play. In fact, we've already accomplished that on our space probes.
