David, Vickers, and Weyland are connected because...

Okay, this may be far out, but it just popped into my head. Try this on for size. Weyland created synthetics or androids, if you prefer. Over time, he has continued to pursue perfection in regards to these 'lifeforms,' hence Davids 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 and 8 with each one getting more and more human. Okay, here it comes. Weyland sees himself as God because he can now create humanoids. We already know that David is an android. Some have speculated that Vickers is an android. Vickers is supposedly close to two members of the crew. [b]What if[/b] those two crew members are her father (Weyland-her creator, her God) and David (her would be lover)! Maybe Weyland has created the perfect couple, Adam and Eve. Who's to say that these androids can't procreate. More, the planet could be the garden of eden. The forbidden fruit could be the engineers technology, and I think we all know who the serpent is. Well?

@Cinefan - Thanks. "My mistake....four coffins." @eighty-five - No, I don't think this film will be anything 'sermon-like.' But, Weyland does have a huge ego. Remember, "We are the Gods now." I think if he could call himself, 'God-the new creator of life,' it would be the 'end-all be-all' for Weyland.

@Duck ... I see where you're going ... ok ... what about Weyland has created a humanoid but now he wants it to be able to survive on its own ... as in make babies? ... so the whole point is grabbing the BioMech organisms ... maybe he thinks they may work in a synthetic ... Not biblical ... just survival ...

Prometheus will apparently touch on subjects that are traditionally addressed by religious precepts, but questions about our origin and place in "creation" aren't exclusive to any single religion or philosophy, either. These are questions which are likely universal to any sentient species.

I think Vickers is neither Weyland or Yutani but is one / part of the SJ / Engineer race and is there to prevent humans (and android) from stealing their "secrets."

@Alien Drone - Actually, I started this thread around the notion that Weyland is trying to play God by introducing the whole Adam and Eve-Garden of Eden-forbidden fruit-serpent-thing. Its less about what they are, and more about Weyland's ambitions. The fact that they [i]both[/i]might be synthetic just ties into the parts of the plot that we already know.

Charlize Theron is wet in that one scene when it looks like she's doing push-ups, which leads me to a question. Do humanoids need to bathe? Do they also have to wear deodorant? Assuming she's an android, I guess they do.
