Has anybody.....ever......in the 30 years of Alien ever asked themselves this question> How the hell did Jones get into that locker? What sick twisted memeber of the crew locked him in there? Cats dont have thumbs.....so he couldnt open the locker himself for it to close on him. Why was jones in the locker? And why is a cat on board such a vast ship when Dave Lister wasnt allowed one aboard Red Dwarf? Oh youll let a cat on board to chew through cables etc......but when it comes to a spider shaped face hugging feotus planter.....well thats a different story isnt it. No....seriously....how did Jones get into that locker. Further more why did he get a locker and everyone else got a hypersleep pod? Cos theres no mention of any feline between waking up and Kane spilling his guts is there?

i have 2 theories. 1. charlie can tell you best from "its sunny in philadelphia. "cats dont abide by the laws of physics". lol maybe he flattened himself out and went into a seam on the locker. 2. i had a cat that could indeed open doors. she used to open cabinets and shred my trash bags when i was in bed. a few nights i tried to put her in a room and close the door that didnt have a lock on it, and somehow she would open it and get out n shred my damned trash bags again. i even put a chair under the door knob but she got it open anyway. maybe jones is a crazy door opening cat like her.

Perhaps you should have put YOUR cat in a locker lol. Perhaps Ash got fed up with waking up periodically to do the housework and feed the cat they didnt know they had until Kanes demise......finding that Jones kept drinking all the water in the birdy thing on the dinner table so just threw him in the locker........for no-one to remember him later.........until Kanes demise of course. Too bad then that Kane never met Jones.

HA, i wish i had a locker to put her in. she was a weirdo with some serious issues, damn cat would try to lay on my face or my neck when i was sleeping too. maybe jones did that to someone so they put him in the locker so he wouldnt suffocate them. lol, i can see kane doing it n saying he doesnt like things on his face.... then he proceeded to have something much worse on his face latter that day.

Its easy... Brett burned a little cat door in the locker because that is were his litter box is. They put Jones on the ship so he can get rid of all the mice silly.

Mark Cawley You are right on about the sudden appearance of Jones. In the shooting script Dallas says, right after waking up, "Someone get the cat." Implying that someone must have Jones sleep with him/her. They should have kept that line in there. It is kind of funny, 30 minutes into the movie, give or take, a cat shows up. Okay, any dogs, parakeets or ferrets we should know about? As for the locker. It is simply because, as we all know, every horror movie must have a cat scene. Logic does not apply.

Dave Lister was expected to adhere to Space Corps Directive 957. The Nostromo, although also a mining ship, has no such Space Corps directives. Fuckin Space Unions, go figure!

Jones is in the first eating scene, but is barely visible. In fact, I didn't see him until I saw the director's cut on the big screen. Even then, it was blink and you'll miss him.

Ridley Scott will eventually tell us how the Queen was born. Right now we have the Deacon; coming soon the Mercury, the May and the Taylor.

Jones was on the derelict; it wasn't a "distress call" or "warning" it was a "dinner bell". The company have a duty to follow their master - Jones...............
