Alien: Earth and Alien: Romulus sequel news

Xeno "mural" question?

Stumpy

I'm wondering if we might be off in our interpretation of the xeno mural. Everything I've read so far on the subject begins with the assumption that this is a static carving of some sort depicting the xeno. Based on the fact that we only see the image in the trailer for a split-second and based on the look of the flowing designs enveloping the xeno, I would like to put forth the idea that there is some sort of process of creation going on (possibly related to the "It's moving" line from the trailer). Your thoughts?

@Stumpy ... I could go with that ... I just posted an animation of the moving wall in this thread ... More than ONE species in those Ampules Looking at the wall there is a bit of blending going on ... or is it camouflage? ...

My thought was that perhaps the ceiling is changing and interpreting the prometheus crew. Would explain the picture of the mural looking humanoid

We wont know, its a question that Ridley dodges. If there is more to it, then they will not say anything and in the Trailers i think some things they given away too much and so either there is nothing to it or they have some more suprises in the Movie. I have a feeling that when we see the Movie a lot will suprise us and take a turn thats different to what we expected.

yep I bet Ridley & the marketing guys are giggling at all our assumptions & presumptions about the movie. I bet it turns out that we are missing some HUGE bits of info about the movie. I dont think we have seen the true monsters in the trailers yet

I'm eager to see how Ridley and the writers do this. BigDave, I believe as you do that there will be a lot of surprises in store for us fans.

I have to say it's rather artistic on their part to make the xeno look like it's "blossoming"; the whole thing looks like a flower, and the xeno is in the center of it, posed as though on a crucifix.

There could be something to it... I came across this HR Giger Artwork. Looks simular to Alien... but the bottom half looks like the Slug or should that now be tail of a Eel like creature? Also some speculate that the Murial is more than that, and we will see a Alien Creature that looks simular and its this that has killed some of the Space Jockeys.

Changing murals which present some kind of story would be a good way to accomplish a lot of exposition, without resorting to ( potentially ) clumsy interractions with the SJs. I sincerely hope they never utter a word of English, and it would probably work better if they never actually speak at all. In the trailer clip with the quivering woman, and a guy close to her who seems to be taking aim at an SJ out of frame in foreground.....it really does look like she's under the control of something outside herself. She moves slightly, and it appears that she actually slides forward, rather than taking small steps. Mind control would make sense, in terms of what it obviously suggests. I mean, just how impossibly advanced can any sentient life form be, if it can't even control the feeble workings of a human noggin?
