Anyone else get the impression that what Halloway is shining his light on here is one of their red probes that looks to have been ripped in half...maybe? It's placement in the trailer immediately follows Janek's statement that the 'probe's reading lifeform'.
Just a thought I liked to hear opinions on...

I didn't think about that before...but you bring up a very interesting point. Perhaps a Space Jockey found it , "ripped" it apart as you said, and laid it where one of the Prometheus crew would find it. In essence, a trap. Good call, by the way!

@Craigmoore ...
You know what? I always thought that was a lid of one of the Ampules (pods) ... only because it looked flat-ish at the bottom ... great call ...

In another scene does Holloway not take a close look at a simular bowl and sees some Organism thats moving about, i bet thats when he gets infected with some kind of Parasite.

It looks to me like the lid to an ampule as well and the stuff on top of that is the strange moving substance that David is admiring with a smirk.

I actually dont think that it is standing on an ampule..the bottom is too big for an ampule..maybe kinda small altar or something.. and the slime in it begins to transform..

I thought the stuff in the bowl was the same stuff you see in the blokes eye in the trailer ?
not so sure if its a broken probe

There are criss-crossing slots in the outer shell of the probes, so there's no way you could make a "bowl" out of one of them. Also, the surface of the probes is very irregular--they have a rough, scaly, jeweled pattern.
Plus the idea that one of the creatures sliced anything precisely in half to create a bowl and left it for the Prometheaus' crew members is incredibly lame. No way does Ridely Scott put something like that in his movie.

Hmm, I think it's anything but a probe? I think it may well be an actual bowl?
The probes actually look practically round, to me - and two halves of this here "bowl" together would be an ovoid-lookin' thing...
Furthermore, it doesn't look "ripped"...and the idea of a SJ or something grabbing a probe of the air, smartly bisecting it and then leaving a half balanced on top of some old big stone ball for someone to walk past and be all "Oh no!" - while SJ is around the corner thinking "MUA-HAHA! Chase me!...."?

I'm just fun-ing with you, but on the real side: no, I don't think it works...
(What would he do with the other half, anyway?)

I will be locking my own thread......Sorry guys....I was not aware that this was discussed...truth be told, I didn't see it as a bowl, so the thread you brought up , Biomechanic, did not register....my apologies folks.....
I know some people are getting irritated by the repeat threads and others are annoyed that their threads are being locked for that reason....BugHunter is working on the search function and hopes to have it up soon.....

Apparently, I can't lock my own thread....I would ask that another Staff member please ablige....Thanks
