Auto site logouts

Since this site's inception, newcomwers have had to learn through experience that this site will automatically time out a member's logged in status after a certain sustained period of time spent on one page. This has been a frequent point of frustration for many and I must say that I am sick of hearing about it. Sorry, I know that sounds rude, but we need a place to send the newbies for this. So, as a means to extend the olive branch and offer a solution to new members, I offer the following: When composing an extremely long post or thread, upon finishing the composition, open a new window in your browser, connect to this site in that new window (while leaving your original window open), check your log-in status and log in if necessary, then return to your original window and post your extremely long comment, post, thread, etc. It should post fine. I also copy the text of my composition before posting, just in case. Hope that helps.
