The recent animated movie PLANET 51 has an obvious homage to you know what with a hillarious little thing that is meant to an alien kid's pet. Its sort of like a Xeno Dachshund (Weiner doggie!).
Its a pretty stupid movie, but I found that the little puppy scenes made me chuckle... Oh it even has a really long tongue that shoots out of its mouth!
Hahahaha... Anyway, PLANET 51 might be worth a quick look to long time Alien fans.
