MemberOvomorphApr-05-2012 11:28 PMThis idea got me thinking but what if the planet that the Prometheus goes to is actually the Xeno's homeworld or at least where they were created/hibernate. This is the video description for the trailer loaded by Amc theatres which was released shortly after Ridley Scott's and Damon Lindelof's interview. I think AMC has released to much info then they should've! Here is the video description:
"In the distant future, two superpowers control Earth and fight each other for all the solar system's natural resources. When one side dispatches a team to a distant planet to terraform it for human colonization, the team discovers an indigenous race of bio-mechanoid killers.

Now the two superpowers I think are Weyland industries and Yutani Corp. The bio-mechanoid killers are the Xenos and/or their predecessors! Maybe even the Jockeys or the micro creatures that infect Holloway!

So it the old "We Vs. They. Winners gets all resources" scenerio? Been done a few times already. I am expecting something more original.

Cripes, you nailed it! The manic pursuit of this plays into the idea that an intention to visit an invitation goes incredibly wrong, all at the behest of corporate conglomerates trying to one up another.

I think after Prometheus Mr. Weyland dies/killed and Weyland goes down in profit so it merges with Yutani or they both realize they'd work better together!

MemberOvomorphApr-06-2012 12:19 AMThat description has been around for a while now. I've been developing my own theories under the assumption that there is or was some kind of conflict on the planet before the Prometheus gets there, hence the dead SJs.

MemberOvomorphApr-06-2012 4:59 AMSeems fake, or purposely misleading. I really don't see Weyland's purpose for traveling to the planet being colonization. Doesn't seem like Ridley would go that route. I honestly think that Weyland's purpose for going to this planet is to see if it really is where the creators of mankind are so he can learn, or steal whatever he needs in order to create non-synthetics aka human beings.

Besides, in the Alien Universe mythos, I believe the "Superpowers" are actually the UNITED AMERICAS vs. an EASTERN bloc which contains Britain & Asia... But the "coporations" exhert a great deal of control.. they are like defacto governments.

Ridley has said he has wanted to do this since the first film and that it was his intention to do it in his first film but he could not because of the suits at Fox.
He has also in his writtings through out the years consistently referred to that race as a Terraforming-Bioweapon

This is NOT fanboy BS as you say! This is an educated guess made from a youtube video description made by a respectable company! I don't see how this is any different from any ideas you have about this movie! I'm not trying to pick a fight just defending my ideas!

I totally agree with you but the interesting part of the description is that it says INDIGENOUS Bio-mechanoid killers meaning they either live/come from there! Could this be our Xeno will appear partially a cameo even?

I respect your ideas but I think the two superpowers mentioned aren't neccesarily political and I think that all alien universe canon made after Aliens will be rendered non-canon after Prometheus!

MemberOvomorphApr-18-2012 9:24 PMHey Mizere, you just gave me the impression you did not see the video because if you did you would have most certainly also noted that it was the exact same regular trailer we have seen and all dissected 1000 times already and mentioned that no where in it is their any such description nor was there proof of one in the OP's original post. Follow me here, the way you addressed the whole thing made me suspicious. If you haven't seen the video why would you bring it up at all? I agree it's probably not true but then again the scenario is very plausible and I would like to be certain one way or another. Can you produce the Actual AMC plot description for the film?
