''the push' by frank herbert: clue to Prometheus mind control!

There's a Frank Herbert short story (I think it's called the push but I'm not sure) in which a space Explorer discovers some alien beings. They can hear his thoughts. They use telekinesis to wipe his memory of having Encountered him then stick him back on his ship. I suspect the SJs response will be a nastier version of this.
