What is the cause of the dust blowing toward the Promo?
Planetary Storm, a big bad monster, collapse of a tomb/cave, another ships engines

i'd say almost certainly that the massive Engineer's citadel collapsed as soon
as the away team got what they wanted. and if you will note, there are 5 of
those massive structures in a row in Prometheus's landing path
perhaps that one citadel collapsed as a result of the crew tampering with
whatever they tampered with, or as a result, all 5 structures bit the dust
(pun intended)

Maybe it has to do something with the weather on the planet LV-426. Thats my guess.

I'm pretty sure its the derelect spaceship engine as it blasts away from its silo. I am of the impression that its silo is underground beneath that gigantic circle in front of the first pyramid. In one of the trailers, one can see massive metallic plates shifting underneath one of the prometheus crew as he is attempting to jump off.
That's my theory...................

I had originally thought that it may have been caused by the derilect launch, seeing shaw on the ground during the launch and maybe that's her being blown away in the dust cloud. But I think I see her jump down onto the launching pad when the ground opens up. So that theory is possibly out. I could see them having some crazy alien storm. Like the ones that really happen out there on other planets. I don't think that has been portrayed in movies very much. The one thing I find odd about the stills from the storm scene is the shape of the debris. It looks stick like or even straw maybe. Any guesses on that?

The dust arrive right into the hangar door ( even if shaw is blasted parallel to the ship ) so the cloud did come from the temple ...an explosion of some sort or something big happening .

oddmanout, yes I see those 'bits' too. Getting caught up in a storm
with all that lethal debris would cut you to ribbons surely.

I think it's a dust storm. I think the fact that people are still walking around in the hangar is a sign that things haven't gotten totally nuts yet. I can't imagine there being any normalcy after the ship has taken off. I think that's just got to be too far into the movie.
Thoughts?
