Not sure if this was noticed yet or not. The "hieroglyphics" that David is looking at correspond to the indentations on the giant head in (what I like to refer to as the) "worship room". I know someone found the "DNA" of the mural that corresponds to Giger's artwork (see thread about newly released images); but I wonder if this is DNA too? More likely a message, but what kind? What sort of message would be written on a face? Could it be a sort of representation of a hierarchy? Is the giant head the "first" humanoid/SJ? Not sure how to add images or screen shots :( That would be great if someone who knows how could post those images!

You should try to upload a jpg instead of a png, I think that's the reason why it doesn't work. ;) (AT least it worked for me) Some time ago someone posted all the occurrences of those hyeroglyphs. If I remember correctly the same signs can also be found on the "coffins" around the SJ seat and on the small boxes that make the Orrery (the holographic starmap).

Ridley Scott will eventually tell us how the Queen was born. Right now we have the Deacon; coming soon the Mercury, the May and the Taylor.

I love how all images, no matter haw how hi-res, the eyes are completely blacked out. I'm sure this has been done by the studio. I could easily see the eyes coming to life during the climax of the movie, maybe they are, indeed, eyes that are alive, like a humans, as if there is an actual being that is being held captive within the structure. Creepy.

Yes the hieroglyphics are found on the Head, also on some of the Walls or Door and also in the Derelict Space ship and on some of the coffins and they apear on the Star Map. They all look simular and some of the same sybols apear over a number of times. Apart from the Urns/Ampules who have hieroglyphics that are simular to those that the Predators use.

What I have noticed since ... maybe nothing ... but the Glyphs on the right hand side of the face (when looking at it) seem slightly different? ... as in the sharper type Glyphs as opposed to the more rounded that are on the left hand side of the face ... are my eyes going? ... :) ... look at the hi-Res POSTERS ... is it just me? ... No, I do believe what the original blogger was referring to was the fact that the BIG head moves. And probably does other stuff. That would be a big alien.
