At least the limb restraints are "comfortable" lol

I wonder if the glass is fireproof, though.
Ridley Scott will eventually tell us how the Queen was born.
Right now we have the Deacon; coming soon the Mercury, the May and the Taylor.

DJABApril 12, 2012
Im pretty sure this will be the set for the scene that scott said could live up to the chestburster scene and rappace said messed her up, she probably programmes it to remove something, people have been throwing c section idea around.
NoXWordApril 12, 2012
Well, this looks exactly like the one we see in the trailers.

NostromoApril 12, 2012
Looking at her after, she must have fogotten that "safety word" biomechanic. Love it.

spacejockApril 12, 2012
Am I the only one who thinks this is Fan Made?? The execution of this ad is really cheap, not professional, like the one with the spaceship.
I dont think this comes from Fox. :)

jujutsukaApril 12, 2012
@DJAB,
I'm not so sure she programs the machinery herself. Considering we already have surgeons performing remote surgeries by robot, here's my take:
She's infected with something (accidentally or on purpose), tossed in that pod, and forcibly held in place by those "comfortable" limb restraints. Then whatever's inside of her is removed (released?) from afar via that remote-controlled surgical arm.
Fall down seven times, get up eight.

DJABApril 12, 2012
if it is the scene rapace and scott mentioned they also said nobody else was involved/witnessed the scene so its safe to say none of the crew witnessed the removal from afar or near, also i dont think the SJ would be familiar with earth tech so I cant see him controlling remotely. also the image reads "computer controlled robotic surgical arms".
I think she realizes she has something inside her after she sleeps with infected Holloway and decides to use the automated med pod to remove it.

DJABApril 12, 2012
im not saying she programmed it completely, probably just pressed the "im pregnant with alien" button.

FREEZE!April 12, 2012
@DJAB, that's hilarious! Pressing buttons are fun!

Biehn_BanditApril 12, 2012
@DJAB - I agree that's exactly what happens. She takes matters into her own hands after realizing something is not right insider her. That's what the machine is built for.
NoXWordApril 12, 2012
LOL DJAB
It could be that, being totally automatic, it has some diagnosis software that identifies diseases and operates accordingly, that would be the point of an automatic medical station.
Concerning the alien presence? Maybe it's just considered as a c-section abortion, or like some tumour removal if the robot identifies it as extraneous tissue.
Having the "I'm pregnant with alien" button would be more PC than "abortion". If that's the case I can only imagine the hypocritical outrage...

Can't get QVC out of my head for some reason lol. The Med Pod 720i can be yours for only 223,223 easy installments of $426.

NecrofanApril 12, 2012
Not a far leap, looking at operating room technology like the Davinci robotic surgery unit, used here in town for delicate heart operations without having to open the chest.
Oh and I like the "comfortable leg restraints" lol. Svanya, I see you caught too lol.
artyohApril 12, 2012
Yeah, I think someone's just having a little fun at the expense of the "Alien" geek community. "Titanium base?"

DJABApril 12, 2012
if that be the case i think the jokes on the person that spent hours in autocad /photoshop making that image lol
OdelianApril 12, 2012
If you look at the Prometheus trailer preview "three days left" at 0:09...you can see that Shaw is in the pod and it looks like she is giving birh or having something removed...it is just a sec but there is no doubt...hopefullt im right hehe

This is a definite fake. When the picture is at 100% zoom/resolution, the words are crisp clear but the actual med pod image is blurry as hell. Sorry guys, either Fox is being veru unprofessional or we've been duped!
NoXWordApril 12, 2012
I think it's just a "leaked" preview of what they are going to upload, at full resolution, on the Project Prometheus site. Rather than a fake, it is some kind of reward to the fan base in this forum.

The quality of that image is quite bad to be honest ... the JPG compression is too high ...
You can use the Ship's page layout for 'anything new' ... BUT you must keep the hi-Res images on the same level lol ...
Whoever produced that failed on that one ... but agree with Nox ...

allinambercladApril 12, 2012
I'm with @Spacejock - I wasn't sure after the first Prometheus model but now I'm convinced: this has to be some fan-made effort.
Some of the language seems so ridiculous.
First we had to tolerate, "Fireproof Windscreen" and "Intergalactic Communication Antennae" - now, we have to unblinkingly endure "Comfortable Limb Restraints" and "Titanium Base"? Well, I just can't smile politely into my shot-glass, anymore.
@jones
She couldn't have been "forcibly held in place" as, evident in the clip I saw, she wasn't restrained, at all.
Evident, also, is the fact that she was not generally anaesthetized, judging from her powerfully hysterical thrashing.
It does seems to point to her having to, (or choosing to), operate, on herself.

DJABApril 12, 2012
I think its genuine. Its a tongue in cheek advertisement for weyland industries not really targeting the sci-fi fans of 2012 but the potential investors/shareholders of 2089
XenophobiaApril 12, 2012
I bit off topic here guys but I have the biggest crush on Noomi Rapace right now, so I propose the following: Who's hottest Noomi or Charlize?

BigDaveApril 12, 2012
@jones
Maybe your right?
There is one scene when Shaw is unconscious sourounded by Humans in Bio Hazard Suits, she wakes up they try and restrain her and she hits them with a object and escapes.
This could lead to either.
They are trying to grow something in her, or know she has a Organism growing, and she finds out and escapes to cut it out.
Or they take her to the Med Pod to Cut it out.
She does not look strapped in though, and if its a private scene then that would imply she did it herself.......
But then maybe the private shock value scene is not the actual Shaw having the C-Section.
Its gets to me that this scene Ridley is on about is huge and going to be one of the biggest things in the movie and add shock value like the Chestburster from Alien did.
If so then why show that scene in the Trailers knowing people will slow down and take stills and discover she has had a C-Section and had a Squid like creature cut out of her.
No i think there is another shock value scene and maybe something that actually leads to her having that Organism Grow inside her.

This is a FAKE, per its officially released picture.

There are big differences.
SHEPMOTApril 13, 2012
NOPE NOPE, IT'S DEFINITELY CLAUSTROPHOBIA SHE'S GOT, THE OTHER IS A CUDDLY!!!!! LOL
Express Elevator To Hell.April 13, 2012
on the uk tralier it shows her sprayed with blood,in the us tralier on the inside of the pod its sprayed with black stuff,it seems to be a bigger question than the origins of humanity........is this movie going to be PG-13 or R.......,what i'am saying is if they have a movie in 2D and 3D why not have a movie PG-13 and R,then everybody is happy...eg.I WOULD LIKE ONE TICKET FOR PROMETHEUS 3D PLEASE!......Ticket guy says...PG-13 VERSON SIR OR R RATED VERSION SIR.......R RATED PLEASE,THANK YOU!..,how simple is that!!
NoXWordApril 13, 2012
It is not fake, it is just poorly made.

Also, I don't think BH would fool us

jupezApril 13, 2012
Shaw realizes that something bad is inside of her and she sets the machine to c-seg mode or the machine itself realizes that its must make the sec, and then the machine holds the creature above her face so that shaw can see her "baby" because the machine thinks its human baby :D, makes sense.

jujutsukaApril 13, 2012
Big derp on my part about supposing Shaw was restrained in the medpod when the vidclip shows she's not.
It certainly sounds much more likely that she programs the unit herself.
Fall down seven times, get up eight.

Wish I had the original graphic just for the Med Pod 720i ... i could of cleaned it up and thrown on the hi-res background I've made ... so who's got the original source just for the Med Pod image? ... :) ...
StrangeDaisApril 13, 2012
The quick shot we see in the trailer just doesn't seem to jive with the Csection speculation imho.
1. Why would you undergo surgery on your own when there are others nearby to assist you?
2. She is flailing/spasming about in the pod which would only serve to cause more grievous harm if your under the knife. Common sense would suggest you would use the anesthetic to ease the inevitable discomfort.
3. For a split second in one of the trailers there is, as mentioned elsewhere, what appears to be something squid/tentacle like above her head or face. Not what you would expect to see from something being removed from your lower abdomen.
The speculation is fun but I'll be darned if I'm not thoroughly confused by the trailers. lol. I think we're all going to be surprised by what actually transpires in the film. Sir Ridley has more than a few tricks up his sleeve no doubt.

This is a pretty cool site. I'm not sure why we are discussing an appliance. Although, I assume that the device features prominently in the movie.

RuhaniyaApril 14, 2012
That's one HOT BOX I wonder if this thing is completely sealed...you know for those extra visits to the med lab; at night when no one is around. Just plug in a new air filter when you leave. Question is: which crew member is going to be making regular nightly visits to the Med Pod? Probably the same guy who ends up in the Space Jockey chair. Especially when he likes to go into Highburnation. It's not a cryo-pod, it's a chronic-pod!

Capt. DavidApril 14, 2012
I don't think their trying to get something out of Shaw ... I thinks their trying to put something INTO her!

Any thoughts? Yeh, how the f***k do you climb up into the thing?
It must be a 'kneeling' version especially for pint-sized Noomies.
