Fears & Hopes for Season 2

What are your hopes and fears for Alien: Earth Season 2? Personally, I wanted more out of Season 1 and I don’t agree with a lot of the choices the show made for the franchise. Not going to rehash my feelings about Season 1 here but I will say that for Season 2 I really hope they establish how dangerous and distrusting the Xenomorph is again. The final moments of Season 1 where the adolescent and baby Xenomorph are perched on the cage like background characters really irked me.

​The Xenos are not pets - they are the perfect killing machine. UNCLOUDED BY DELUSIONS OF MORALITY. In the famous words of Ripley 8 – “You can’t teach it tricks”.

​So for me, my biggest hope for Season 2 is a return to form. Chalk it up to naive adolescence if you have to, but once those Aliens are fully grown, I hope they wreck havoc on everything and everyone around them. 

The Lost Boys can also get a firmware update – enough kid stuff, it’s weird. The IP and its themes are clearly not geared towards children and the discrepancy between adult cognition and a child’s based on the actors’ performances needs to evolve.

Peter Pan needs to go to sleep too. Please make the next season an ALIEN show – not a love letter to children’s Disney books and movies. I’ll forgive the Ice Age reference if Season 2 can clean things up and get back on track.

I’m not hating, but I am advocating for a proper Alien series. Season 1 let Noah explore themes and concepts that were important to him – cool. Now that the Peter Pan remake is over, let’s get back to ALIEN. Pick up the phone, call Fede and ask for some pointers. Let’s make Season 2 a hit for the WHOLE fanbase! Not just the casuals who don’t really care about the lore that much.
