Great find thx! The rewrite of the initial screenplay changed the space jockey into a crashed human ship. If Ridley hadn't decided to change his mind last minute and go back to the original space jockey idea we wouldn't have any basis for Prometheus to this day! Mind blown

I love the amount Ridley is going back to ideas he didnt have the budget or the chance to do. I think it is one of my very favourite things about this movie.

Indeed it does look like Ridley is going to use some elements of the Original Script and it could make a interesting movie. I think when you look at that script, look at the unused work Giger did for Dune, use some of the other works of Giger and mix them all up you get the idea for the movie. This would have been the original draft for Prometheus... i think Ridley then went back and changed some to add in the Ancient Astronaught and Promtheus legend/Myth to add some back ground to the movie rather than how the Space Jockey was thought of in Alien and the Orginal Script. This would explain why the Space Jockeys are dead, the Xeno wiped them out all but one. But then that means the Xeno is alive maybe not in the Alien form but some proto stage. Questions would be how would a Organism be that Proto Face Huggers, Worm thingys had built those temples? How would the Space Jockey had time to build those temples if they was attacked by the indigenous species? We then get to Prometheus and the Statue of the Head.. which all adds up to the Space Jockey being a race that creates life, it Teraforms planets and experiments. They may either had come across some indigenous organism and tried to manipulate that lifeform with their Bioformer Technology... Lets say they did that with Apes to make Man. But when trying to do that with the indigenous Organisms something goes wrong. Or maybe by the way the Urns hieroglyphics do not match the Space Jockey ones, maybe they come across something left by another Race? Maybe a Race they was at War with. Maybe the Space Jockeys Bioforming of this other Races Organisms in the Urns creates the Xeno. We just dont know for sure. The orginal script points to Temples (check) points to the Ship (check) points to a race of Engineers (check) but points to them getting killed off by Indigenous lifeform (be that its orginal form, or the modified one create by the Space Jockey in its experiments). That would explain the dead Jockeys and it looks like something large may have done that do them as how can Worm thingy take a 10ft or more creatures head clean off? As far as the Jockeys being Evil... Well when our Scientist are conducting Gene Research or even testing products and chemicals on living animals, would you consider that cruel, would that make mankind cruel? If the Apes etc and Guinea Pigs was almost as inteligent as Man, they would consider us to be Evil and Cruel. If we created a Hybrid Animal by mixing say Dolphin DNA with Apes and it creates a Hybrid that is nearly as inteligent as Humans. We would carry out tests on them, and other experiments that if we carried out on fellow humans we would consider in humane... But we wont look at it that way because we created the lifeform and so we are the Gods, and just as with the none inteligent animals we test products on, we see us as far superior lifeforms and so dont care much for how it effects those animals. Well the Jockeys would feel the same towards us, we are after all maybe one of their ancient experiements/creations and are inferior.

Indeed it looks like they could be using elements of the orginal script for Alien, with elements of Gigers Art Work and his unused work on Dune. It would apear that those ideas when all mixed together and connecting with Alien would make the Prequal... I think that Ridley then changed the script to add elements based on the Ancient Astronaught and Prometheus Myth, to give a back bone story behind the Jockeys. Other than what little was known and based on the orginal script, Alien movie and other apearences in comics etc. So as to add the element that these SJ are a race that go around Teraforming Worlds and then creating life on them, or altering indigenous life with their DNA or their Bio-Former Technology. The orginal script for Alien had a lot of elements of Prometheus... Temple, Engineer Space Ship, Engineer Race, the Urns..... and descriped the Space Jockeys being killed off by the indigenous organisms... but is that the orginal organisms or ones they created via experiements/Bio-Forming the indigenous lifeforms... If they used their Bio-Formers to maybe create us from Apes, we can be cruel and evil and warlike... But maybe doing the same but with the indigenous lifeforms on that planet creates something thats far worse. This would sugest that the Xeno or some kind of Proto Xeno existed before Alien Movie and indeed before the Prometheus Crew landed, and that would explain the dead Space Jockeys as surely something more than a Worm killed them, i mean it takes some organism to rip off the head of a 10ft Bieng.

As far as the Jockey being Evil.... Well would you consider if you was a Chimp, or Guinea Pig or Rat, that is being experimented on by us, be that Gene Research, or testing of Chemicals and Products. What we do to those animals would be considered inhumane if we did it on other people. But its not seen that way, because well we are the superior race. If we created a Hybrid Animal via experiements the Scientists would consider us able to do what we want as its our creation. Much like we did with this Mouse. Put it in a cage give it a wheel... i dont think so. And thats how the Jockeys would see us. Is what we do with that mouse, or other animals used for reasearch seen by all Mankind as a act of Evil? Does that make all Mankind Evil? Thats my view on the Jockey, they may seem Evil to us, but to them we are just creations or experiments and they are the superior race (Gods).
