Ben Kingsley!!! Gandhi versus Giger! I actually was pissed when he got killed. I remember the tireless attempts to connect Species with Alien. From the man who created the Alien! H R Giger! I wonder how much time he spent on that shoot?

The nineties film Leviathan has a nice little chestburster scene. It's kind of a The Thing/Alien/The Abyss rip off.

my favorite ALIEN knockoffs are "Aliens" and Event Horizon also, i really like a film called "Saturn 3", there was something about the design of the killer robot Hector that (for whatever reasons) reminded me a bit of the alien in ALIEN the sets for that film were pretty cool, ESPECIALLY the simple lighting effect for the decontamination corridor, really simple effect, but truly effective (and Farrah Fawcett was easy on the eyes too)

SATURN 3 Rocks !! If you've never actually seen it, you would NEVER believe the premise. The late Farah Fawcett playing the love interest of SPARTACUS himself!! Yep, Kirk Douglas.. In a SCI-FI movie!... and she has to fend off the advances of a pyschotic robot contructed by Harvey Keitel that wants to ummm... do very nasty things to her !! Are you kidding me!... You cant make up that kind of stuff folks. Its worth watching JUST for that. [img]http://www.impawards.com/1980/posters/saturn_three.jpg[/img] That one year period in 79/80 was sort of interesting in sci-fi.... with stories all over the map in terms of plotlines with ALIEN, BATTLESTAR GALACTICA, SATURN 3 & THE BLACK HOLE. All the studios were attempting to jump onto the 77 Star Wars "Space" bandwagon. : )

Saturn 3, wow, I had forgotten about that one. That was actually pretty well made. And I was just counting the minutes/hours/days until someone brought up the immortal Galaxy of Terror. The famous giant slug rape scene will be remembered for eternity. Produced by Roger Corman I believe. Did he direct it, too? I wonder what Alien would have looked like with Corman at the helm in 1977. He was the first to show interest, if I am correct. Yikes. Although, John Hurt in Corman's Frankenstein Unbound is excellent. Highly underrated flick.

I love Creature. I think it's probably the finest Alien rip off. Dark Side of the Moon... and it may have come before Alien, but Galaxy of Terror has everything in Alien... and more!
