especially as the previews make clear there will be action sequences in Prometheus. But if Scott went full tilt and really deceived us about most of the plot; if we went in and saw something akin to Solaris or Stalker or 2001 or The Quiet Earth, a sci-fi movie with very little action/scares but very big questions and/or in depth characterization, how many would hate it? I'm not talking general audiences here, but hard core Alien fans. Just a little thought game. Nothing more. Not saying can't have both, just wondering . . .

I kinda want a story that I'll never really understand.... well no definitive interpretation. I'm I asking for too much?

Alien didn't have a lot of high octane action, it was more of an intilligent thriller. For Prometheus I'm expecting a thought provoking film with some action. I'm not expecting Aliens type action, it's not Ridley's style. More along the line of the film Sunshine as far as pace goes.

@cinefan : agree. Ridley's style is more psychological than action. Expecting that Prometheus will be more detailed on the DNA stand rather than too much action.

Whatever serves Ridley's style of storytelling that DOES NOT PANDER, I'm good with...

Personally I think Prometheus will be a film with the perfect balance, suspense building up to intense scares.

Same as them above ... bit of action/FX to get the heart started ... then a heart attack mind f*ck on the 3rd Act would do me fine :) ... similar to Alien ...

I enjoy good psychological horror.

I'm not expecting alot of action, nor do I want it. I want more of a thought provoking thrill ride. More horror then action. That being said Ridley Scott does action sequences very well. He's extremely detailed and creates realistic sequences that are both visually stunning and thrilling. I'm thinking Body of lies Kingdom of heaven Gladiator Black hawk down All have really well executed action scenes. As to your comment Dallas!dallas! If the film had very little action and was more of a mind trip like Solaris or 2001 I would love it that way!
