Will this Site Live On after Prometheus?

Bug Hunter once suggested to me that he'd be happy for me to stay on as staff long after the film debuted, so...that would suggest the site lives on...wouldn't it?

would be great, plus it is very possible that after the movie will be made books, comics, games and maybe a sequel. IMHO this is the ideal place to discuss the matter unlike sites such as AVP Galaxy (too many trolls)

I thought he was going to merge the site with avpspectrum a few months afterwards. Is anybody else on over there already?

As it's already an extension, I would think it continues to run as is...I don't know what the purpose of melting into AVPSpectrum would be at that point....

I don't know, that's just what he said at one point, maybe a couple months ago. Things change I guess, I know a lot has gone on since then. I've only talked to him a couple times and I know your obviously more in the loop and talk on a daily basis. It would make more sense to just let it keep running as is until it loses steam, how ever long that takes.

It has to live on so we can get to the meat and potatoes of what we all felt after the event . That will inspire the best debates of all i think.

agreed alteredstate....he hasn't gone into detail with me, but he has suggested that his intention is to keep it going and I believe he will...heck, as you say, after we've seen the film there will be mountains of endless material to cover...just look at what this site has done in a little over a year.... 4354 Fans 42002 Posts 2936 Discussions From just four trailers and maybe three to four dozen or so official images encompassing a miniscule amount of the film's substance......I think there's enough fuel in an hour and 59 minutes, and the possibility of a sequel, to keep us going ENDLESSLY...

I actually got the nod to help out here if neccessary and one of BugHunters other sites as well so it's a pretty safe site this site will be going strong well into the 5th prequel.

people are pretty fickle. i assumed this place would still be buzzing for a while after the movie cus everyone wants to review and argue about what they thought about it. then after that wave, eventually start slowing down and many people will lose interest.

I think your underestimating the hard core fans ability to debate their favourite film franchise there bella, it could go on for decades lol, especially if the franchise gets the momentum to expand after the fact.

that's correct - look at the IMDb board for Alien...still going, still thriving, except for the unfortunate trolls, idiots and the dilution of AvP, etc. Prometheus should be wood on the fire for a more intelligent discussion HERE.

no, they asked "what do YOU think" is going to happen and i said what i think. i underestimated nothing, and i didnt say how long it would take for people to get bored did i? it would be nice if some day we can put our opinions without someone having to argue with it.

I'd stick around and discuss this movie, and, after its release, any hardcore sci-fi that comes down the line, as I feel we all make a damn good sci-fi critic when put together, I think. Most people on here, I have come to enjoy your company and I would miss this forum if it were disbanded completely after the film's release. As far as the realm of understanding science fiction in this and any form it takes in the future, I think we can all agree that the future of our favorite genre is bright. I want to witness and discuss as much if it as I can. - with you guys!

There will be plenty to continue discuss after the movie is released to the public here or somewhere else online. Like the TV show “Lost”, Prometheus may answers a few of our questions we’ve had since 1979, but more likely it will leave us with even more questions and the hope for another related follow-up movie.

Heh, we may have more questions then, than we do now.
