David's Motives?

David was built by Weyland industries – probably infused with some corporate secrets / knowledge. He is aware of the findings on Earth. He probably knows how the systems of Prometheus works and can interface with them. He spent possibly years reading the minds and dreams of the crew of the Prometheus while they were in cryosleep. Also from the trailers he appears to have figured out how some of the derelict / SJ technology works (map room). From the trailer he appears to have taken an extra interest in the Alien goo and may have figured something out. Seems like if anyone could manipulate the crew of the Prometheus, split them up, bring them together (for sex?), display hallucinating images, lead them into a trap etc. – it would be him. Not sure of his motives yet. Play God/create a new species, finish the work/goals of Peter Weyland’s, become more human or lifelike of some species. Ideas?
