Beginning of time figure?

MemberOvomorphApril 16, 2012755 Views12 RepliesIs it just me but if you look at the top of the head of the figure at the waterfall it looks like it is filling up / completing a transformation. Together with the veins forming rather than being infected I think we are seeing the final part of a humanoid lifeform being created, possibly from an ampule deposited by the saucer onto early Earth.
Interested in what others think of this observation.

I was wondering about this too. I think you're on to something. The figure flexes his arm/hand and looks up, gestures of awareness/completion, not infection, pain, or panic.

Well the chick says "A king has his reign, and then he dies" So maybe it is Holloway's infection killing him off.

I'm with you guys 100%, he's being formed in some fashion, I'm glad some one else agrees with me on this one!

A King has his reign and then he dies..it's inevitable...The conundrum of the Engineers race before extinction...the creation of the first man on Earth?

Yes... I never saw that seen as a punishment scene.
That is "modern man".... US, being formed.
"Prometheus" is up in his "saucer" making us out of clay.

It does look like some sort of "morphing" in some form or fashion, for sure

its one of the guys of "I am legend". lol
Nah, shape of head etc, i think its David who turns into the space jocky/engineer.
The way hes also looking at his arm.Looks to me like hes looking in awe as if hes seeing vains, blood, feeling etc.

Be careful with your assumptions guys. That particular scene may be combined with that particular narration in the trailer just to mislead the viewer. In fact, for all we know, that may be the closing scene of the film with the narration coming from the prologue, or vice versa.

I think regardless of when this scene plays in the film I can' get past the view that this figure, whatever it is, is being formed and is new. I don't see it as an infection. The top of his head gives it away for me.
What relevance this has or what part it plays in the film is beyond me but I can't wait to see how it all combines as so far it looks like it will have some great themes and truly expand from the original Alien. I am not one who wants a prequel to Alien and this so far looks just right.

As mentioned before, this scene should be "the beginning of time" now it is interesting indeed to think about where the beginning of time takes place in the movie.

the line about Kings refers to Humanitys arc...we are just am experiement.
Its not David, its not forming - its disintegrating, he falls apart like a leper with ebola and crumbles into the waterfall.
At this time in pre-history the earth has no life, its starts in the Oceans this space jockey has been given a fluid to drink which triggers his cellular break up and allows the DNA for the start of life to be introduced into the seas. Its the prologue filmed in Iceland and I would put money on the info as it came from crew, but these other theories are sometimes interesting.
I think we need to stop thining of the Space Jockeys as the ones running the show, I think we will find they are servants to a higher power.

The guy in that scene neither looks like David or the guy who plays the Jockey as far as Ears and Head Shape, it also does not look like Guy Pearce.
But it does look a little like Holloway?
Doubt it, but he does look a little like it.
Does that scene and the Mural scene have a direct link?
