pandora's box

If i may draw comparisons .. Prometheus stole fire from the gods.... The gods didn't like that so they punished him... tied him to a rock and an eagle ate his liver. Now zues was unhappy that mankind had a weapon that could narrow the gap between man and god... so what does he do... Gives prometheus's wife pandora a box (actually a jar) tells her not to open it knowing forewell she will unleashing the horrors on to the world to punish man... But at the bottom of the box is the angel of hope... We are going to a place where we are not wanted...and the gods will punish us with their ampules with many horrors abominations....and xenomorphs....a product of a horror that the gods contrived to punish us..perhaps a race of titans.. But their is hope perhaps a new start with david as a new proto human...

I agree. Granted, as you said, there is talk about the evolution of humankind, but as with Alien before it, the crew opens Pandora's box under the assumption that our creators want us to come and find them. The main difference here is that humankind is going in blind, more or less. Unfortunately, for our heroes in Alien, they're also going in blind, whereas the company has prior knowledge of the events surrounding Prometheus and the planet LV-426.
