Possible motivations for Vickers?

The role of vickers is really a mystery ...company suit yes but ...what else ? She look cold but also very scared often ( too much to be an android .,..just watch David expressions ... ) .

Well, another interesting point.... when it appears like the crew is heading back to the ship and has the alien "head", she is keeping them all at bay in the hangar with a flame unit not wanting to let them back on the ship. This act alone seems very different from the future acts of corporate "villains" wanting to acquire ALIEN DNA at all costs!

Canada phil ...from which footage you get this assumption ? Ive see a footage of Vickers with a flamethrower but ...against the crew ?? Where ??

I will try to find the best image I can of that and add it into another topic I started about the image of the Prometheus leaving the surface.

@CanadaPhil I have wondered about that scene myself. Early on I think most thought it was David. But we have the set photo of Vickers with the flame thrower. It would make sense for her to be suspicious of bringing potentially threatening material onto the ship. Harkens to the originial Alien where Ripley didn't want to break the quarantine. I'm wondering at what point in the movie it takes place. How many trips does the crew make to the temple? We have the scene in question above, one trip. In the trailers though we see the vehicle racing back to the Prometheus with dust cloud on their tail, two trips. Thinking about that has me trying to piece together all of the inside temple shots and wondering where they fit, first trip or second trip. Maybe a third trip? June can't come soon enough for answers.

Interesting ... so that is connected with the image of david with the raised hands ... so is ... 1) crew return 2) vickers is suspicious 2.5) Holloway go towards her with hands raised explaining something 3) something happen that let them enter because later we see them parking the cars in peace 4) the cloud arrive while another vehicle is arriving 5) shaw is blown away thats fine ?

It's actually Holloway with the raised hands. You can find a bigger version of the photo and read 'Holloway' on his cap.

Yes.. thats the one I meant Mentos.. There are also others closer up from a frontal angle but I dont know where to find them now... Thats why we need an updated MEDIA storage areas for this site. Further, I may be wrong, ut I also believe that the item on the ground next to second crew member is the "Jockey Head/Skull/Helmet"??

@ CanadaPhil Yes, could be the jockey head or the ampule that David is seen studying.

I have a feeling Vickers is going to play a major part in this movie She is the most mysterious of all the characters and I can't wait to see charlize theron in this movie bet she will do an amazing job

Regarding the marketing, writing, and acting talent involved, I would not be totally surprised if Vickers was the major protagonist of the film, in hiding. If it's his programming that faults David in the end, maybe religion turns out to be Shaw's fault. I'd believe it at this point.

Vickers is said to be on the mission for reasons personel to her..... What ever that means? Mayeb Weyland is her Father. Looking at that scene reminds me of the other one where Holloway is holding his hands up..... You would now assume that Vickers is not keen on letting him get in the Ship. That image of Holloway with his Face Swollen must be after he has a love scene with Shaw.... So the crew must have gone to the Temple on more than one occation. Maybe first one, Holloway gets some infection. After the 2nd visit he starts to show signs of Mutating or Changing. Who knows maybe the Organism that was in his eye, leaves him in one scene larger and this larger worm (holloways grown and escaped) then gets inside Fifields Suit. This scene in OP must be them returning back... One would assume that Fifield shows no real signs of Mutation and that Vickers in the Command Post must know/hear what as gone on the surface/temple and does not want to allow some of the crew back on Prometheus.

what if vickers hold not secrets and is just the company suit in the wrong trip and scared as hell ??

interesting thing happened last night when i discovered on the Prometheus fb page a Verizon Fios tag.. this is the link http://www2.verizonsweeps2.com/ You play a little interactive home monitoring of the the ship and get entered to win a London trip, I assume to the opening. The game is centered around Vickers and it reveals more clues about her.. If you decide to do this, take your time and really think about what you're seeing and reading because at the end of the game you will submit your report to Janek. I played twice with different emails because after i submitted my first report, something occurred to me and i needed the chance to see if i was right. I think I'm on the right track now because the first report i issued had a limited amount of characters to enter. The second time, I used certain words, I realized, that allowed as much room as I needed. It doesn't give anything away to play however its just kind of cool to be messing around the ship. The truth is out there J
