I havent seen much if any discussion on this pic.... but for me, this hi-res version of one of the Verizon viral marketing images is the MOST intriguing one yet. If you really look at the detail, it shows that this Alien "civilization" if you will is a sprawling complex!! The scale is huge. There appear to be a very intricate network of "roadways" or something going right off into the horizon in the far distance. Yet it looks like the Prometheus initially set down directly on just one of these roadways which basically lead straight to the "Temple" not too far off straight down that "road". So what I trying to say is, the structures they investigate are really just the one(s) on the very outer edge of this clearly very large complex... dead city??... what?? CP, couldn't this be a shot of Prometheus's initial point of departure, say Earth?

Nope.. definately not. According the the press details of the European event, the first glimpse we get of Prometheus if of it travelling through Space having almost reached the destination. The crew is all in cryo-sleep. Here is a shot of the initial landing site, directly disecting one of the "roadways"... I was going to get to that one Bio... To me, thats a gaping hole if you will. Looks like some of the "road" network collapsed into it where its opened up.. That is the "jockey" ship lift off site I believe. Notice OTHER rounded areas nearby and further off in distance as well.

I was thinking the same thing that it was taking off from a secret area on earth which is why it looks so barren but looking at the rock detail on the right it does look like the planet. So there is a vast area of roads and probably either more temples or buildings. Maybe Weyland has been there before and set up shop.

Are there lights in the background of the take off image? Looks flat to me like Phoenix, wheras the landing site is surrounded my mountains. Well, who says they only have to takeoff and land once.

OK, now this one from an angle inside the hangar.. Is that the same initial landing site?... If it is, they basically set down right in from of what many refer to as the "Temple". @ Bio... again Actually, could it be that the dark rounded thing in the bottom right is the crest of one of the mountain tops?? The complex appears to be in a flat valley surrounded on all sides by mountain ranges.

Looks to me the object in the lower right is closer to the camera than the Prometheus, ie, the Alien ship being pursued

The first thing I came to think to, at a glance, is that the object on the lower right might be part of the circular wall surrounding a temple. The circular curved shape is suddenly interrupted to the left because of the entrance, consistently facing towards the direction from where the Prometheus seems to be coming from. But since there is no actual way to evaluate the scale and distances, it could be just anything (the temple wall, a mountain range, a gaping hole, a sandworm, ...)

Ridley Scott will eventually tell us how the Queen was born. Right now we have the Deacon; coming soon the Mercury, the May and the Taylor.

^^^ Yes.. That too! Actually, I do now think it is very well likely the top of one of the 5 Temples. Well, 5... that is just what has been seen so far I guess. There might even be 50 for all we know?

Just to back up the theory because I didn't realise there was a PAGE 2 and I typed all this out and wasn't gonna waste it ... lol ... I would say the object bottom right is the wall of the temple ... because Prometheus was FACING the temple and the walls when it landed ... so the ship taking off would take it up and over the CIRCLE shape (that was also between the walls and Prometheus) ... and then over the temple & walls ... if you look at the 5 Temples image Kane posted above it would be the LEFT side wall that we see in the original posted image ...

Got you... And then that would even mean that ALL of the intricate networks we see are then actually sort of OUTSIDE the mountain ranges encircling the Temples?? That they are leading into the Temple sites?? Wow.. that scale is more that I was thinking of! Just a thought... I wonder if we are going to see a shot in the movie of Prometheus actually looking down on then area from very high above before it is making its final approach run just above the valley floor leading to the Temple area. Something now tells me all of those patterns make up a large mural visible from high alittude.

That's an interesting hypothesis. Maybe the temples could part of that big mural, too.

Oh geez.... Not that I want to talk about "ancient alien" bs, but somehow Im now thinking of the ancient Nazca giant land art in Peru... Hahahaha... If you were on the ground you would NEVER have any clue that there is an image of anything here, but many thousands of feet up, you see the image.

Not sure I understand this pic...I thought the area they had landed on was pretty much mountain-land. In this pic you cant really see a single mountain. (The minor formations off to the right seem like short hills or even plant life...not mountains.)

Clearly "CP" there are MANY structures on earth that no matter WHO it was that built them, they Built them 100% to be seen from the SKY !!! No Question about it ! Another fascinating element of all this is that in most cases these STRUCTURES are in geological but also Astronomical alignment with some important celestial object or body of stars or system.

Well, its always possible that it may turn out to be a shot of Earth. But that is NOT very likely. And I didnt really want to imply that we are looking at Nazca markings.. But it does appear to look like patterns of some kind. I do agree that some of the rounded shapes do look like the Saucer underbelly, which for me confirms that we ARE looking at an Alien landscape. But the real point I was trying to make was that forgetting everything else, if this does turn out in fact be the Alien "Complex", our crew is literally only searching through a small outer edge of it in Prometheus's 119 minutes. So what is in the REST of the place??
