Hi guys, Just a thought, but Ash is not really related to David as he (Ash) and possibly Bishop are built by Hyperdyne Systems, Ash was a 120-A/2 model built by Hyperdyne Systems. Maybe after Weylan Industrries David-8 series goes bonkers, they had to farm out synthetic development, hence the switch to Hyperdyne Systems.

I think it is a very interesting clarification - and distinction. A distinction like that could be so important that it's worth a whole lot more than, "trivia".

Once the synthetic technology is developed it would be short work before other companies start producing identical products, like i-phone vs. android.

Unless Hyperdyne was purchased by Weyland, I would not understand the reasoning for Weyland to purchase androids if they can make them on their own and program them the way they wanted. Weyland is a leader in androids and they are very proud of their creation so much so I do not see them buying from another company to use in their workforce.

Because of the bad press they recieve after blaming the failed Prometheus mission on David-8, they spin off the technology and form Hyperdyne Systems. Weyland secretly still runs Hyperdyne but avoids the problems associated with being linked publicly.
