David was awake for the entire journey, I think it was a couple of years. There has been quite leading statements of what would you do to keep yourself occupied alone during such a long period, what would you think about and what would you do. I think with Ash they are trying to imply that David 8.0 is a nut job, he certainly comes accross as quiky in his actions and campness. I would probably guess the shot with David at Shaw's hyper sleep chamber is him waking her up from her slumber. However, with David 8.0 being able to perform tasks that are unethical that really opens it up to anything. Perhaps David 8.0 will be 'Prometheus' taking an order as literal and either siding with the Engineers or giving the humans up to them. For example; upholding the safety of the higher intelligent organism would mean that Davd 8.0 would be driven by his programming to sell out humans in favour of the Engineers....... I might not have explained that very well, but I hope you get my drift........

There is probably a secret room on the ship somewhere filled to the top with sweaters and cozies and socks that David knitted.

Remember that David 8,0 talk of unethical things yes ... but also is "sad" to unnecessary violence , poverty and war ....so it seems they gave him a low tollerance for bad behaviours .
