why do these threads keep showing up more and more??? Just have fun, don't "expect" anything, and just go "for the ride"....if you love the "Alien" Universe, this should be everything you want and more.

I agree with Xenophobia "In scott we trust" (Although I hated White Squall) I just worry about the follow up to Blade Runner that's been mentioned by Scott... please, please, please don't do it! It's so beautiful and needs no further exploration it just needs to be! I don't think Prometheus will disappoint all and certainly not the masses, it will be people that have had their ideas fixed (usually in fanboy/girl dom). Is that not the thing consistent we know about Prometheus and at the core is not the story (for both human and Alien characters) to adapt and survive (and for the Alien you can further that phrase by adding ...and then ensure of the lack of survival of anything). And I still think Jonsey was in league with the Alien

We will get over our disappointment. But, have you seen the trailer? Have you seen the cast? Have you seen Fassy in the role of [i]David[/i] in his viral video? I’m. [b]NOT[/b]. worried. ;•)

Disappointed compared what other absolutely stellar sequel or crossover that came after ALIEN? It'll be ok enough not to a total loss.

Let's remember that this project was originally going to be his son-in law's film before the studio said no, they wanted Scott to direct the film. With his name attached to the movie they knew that he would bring in the people and put bums on seats. That's what worries me. That and the rating and the running time. My dad snuck me in to see Alien at the cinema when I was 12 years old and it's stayed with me ever since...the images and trailers I've seen for Prometheus look astounding (not too sure about the 3D yet) I digress, ...the running time is the most disappointing thing for me. All this hype for a less than two hour movie?

I don't know what the rest of you will do but me personally am going to blame Damon Lindleof if it turns out to be crap. He ruined LOST and he most certainally will be the cause of Prometheus being a flop. He is the shittiest writer blah, blah, blah I have ever seen. RS should have known better before he let someone that ruined LOST get ahold of Spaihts Original Script. He cannot even finish a good shit let alone a potentially blockbuster movie. So I am blaming him. From everything I have seen, the visuals, acting, costumes and intensity are awesome in the trailers, so that only leaves the story to blame IMO and we have not seen that yet.

@Chimera i'm with you on this one if it turns out to be a flop i'm going to blame Damon Lindleof to and i'm 50/50 if prometheuse will be good or not coz of him......

If Prometheus disappoints you then you clearly have no choice but to murder your family in their sleep and then end your own life. I hope Ridley Scott appreciates the responsibility he bears in this senseless waste of human lives.

Of course the film will disappoint...we all have our own ideas of how the film should be and what it should contain. I want to be surprised...I want it to go in a direction I never expected and I hope that happens. I couldn't care less if I don't see a xenomorph, I want to see something new.

@Simon.....Agreed, something new. Not they all died when the ship was trying to land on the planet and they created some insane crap until they all decide that they have really died and go to heavan together kind of Bull$#!%. I have huge expecatations for Prometheus and I may be setting myself up for a huge fall, but that should not happen because there are so many places this movie could potentially go and explore. I do expect something new. It scares the hell out of me that Damon Lindleof is involved in any capacity ecspecially friggin writer. God help us all.

I'll go watch an R-Rated Movie.

chimera, that was abrams, not lindelof. abrams wrote how it was going to end when he started it off and lindelof didn't have any say in it. so if you watched the show for 6 seasons you must have enjoyed lindelofs contribution immensely, and only felt let down by the abrams ending. Personally i liked the ending.

I have the complete DVD collection except for season 6 of course because I was so damn mad at the ending I will not buy it. I was one of the first 100 members of Lostpedia and had thousands of contributions. JJ Abrams bowed out in the first Season due to other commitments leaving Damon Lindleof as head creator and writer and Carlton Cuse as his second. Abrams did make some minor contributions when Darlton would get themselves backed into a corner but had nothing to do with the ending. I have season 1-5 on DVD and have watched the episodes many times each. I will not buy season 6 because I am so disgusted at the ending of the show. It was pure amaturism to wrap up all of the events with a crappy ending that made season 1-5 and the events of them irrelevent. Well i think all he is going to give us is a hint of how the Xeno was created. You see while he said the Xeno had been done over and over, its not only a case of that subject being done to death. But that if your going to go down the route of having a movie with Xenos, Face Huggers running around well its going to have to be done in a very special way in order for it to better or equal Alien and Aliens. So its a risk that this could disapoint. Hence Ridley could have gone with the less risky as far as disapointmet potential and will give clues to how the Xeno came to be etc but not base the movie all around them. Then he can explore other things in this movie... Ridley then has a open door, because if the other story/plot proves to be a disapointment and fans mainly only praise or make postive comments on the Xeno/Last 8 mins of the movie, then Ridley knows that if he makes another he can then explore the Xeno again. If the movie does welll and people are intriged in the other aspects of the movie then Ridley knows he can then explore them further in a 2nd movie and the Xeno does not have to be explored again because there would be enough of a explanation at the end of this movie to explain/link events that lead to Alien.

We are gonna be bummed. Chances are that despite aswesum visuals, star studded casts and bad ass monsters, we're still gonne be left with wanting more. I just hope the story makes sense and is not some over the top alternate universe crap,or time traveling or I'll beam myself right outa the theater. Nevertheless I do have a good feeling that tonights gonna be a good night ! :) hur ra!!! Lmao
