I doint know about that debris but there is one interesting point ... we see janek fighting in a suit with a flamethrower ... that "fight" can be before the crash ? Or later ( Janek escape the crash along Chance ) ? We were always so sure that only Vickers escape the ship and Ravel , Janek and Chance die in the impact ( and that is still the most probable ending for them )

any death by crashing is a waste of a red shirt imo - insanely violent and terrifying deaths at the hands of mutants / SJs/ oompa loompas ...much more satisfying

Hi all, I'm wondering, perhaps one or more of Prometheus' pulse drive engines separated from the respective pylon during the collision event. Hence, the unidentified object in this screen cap?!?

Are we really analyzing the debris from the crashing ship in the trailer?

I think it's funny how much mileage they got out of this piece: [img]http://www.ifc.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/prometheus-tm.jpg[/img] It's in the shot of Shaw flying through the air, oblique shots out the rear of the hangar bay, and yet again, as a piece of fallen debris when Vickers and Shaw are running from the cartwheeling SJ ship.

Up close....I see a large bag shaped thing....a large figure in red (close up, of course)....and...wait....i think reindeer? (Well, Ridley really is all about everything - he's an "I'll have one with everything" kinda guy)

It's possible Janek locks the Prometheus on a radar guided collision course with the derelict and they escape in the pods near the bridge at the last minute. Again, it's possible.

I mean, ramming ships like that seems to be an act of desperation... indicating that some serious shit has already gone down by that point and there have possibly already been multiple deaths.

In the russian trailer it does show a life support ship that obviously detaches from Prometheus. Whether that is the ship flying in the background above remains to be elucidated.

we just all thought vickers would be on it and there she running like a bat out of hell away from the rolling engineer ship.

We can actually see that the Class D Escape Module (NOT the individual Escape Pod) has already crash landed BEFORE the Derelict has smashed on to the planet surface ... so I have no idea what that 'UFO' is ... ;) ...
