Original Alien Plot elements re-tooled?

After watching the trailers countless times and going over the volumes of esoteric Alien related material I posses it's slowly dawned on me that some of the elements from Prometheus look directly related to if not entirely resemble some concepts from the original plot treatment for the original Alien film. Take the pyramid for instance and the hieroglyphs. The original plot included a derelict ship and a pyramid with the latter not the former holding the archive of preserved eggs. http://alienexplorations.blogspot.ca/1979_06_01_archive.html As for the domed pyramid in Prometheus not only does it's re-hash that original relic from the original script but it brings to mind the domed Haarkonen structure Giger worked on for the unreleased version of dune. As always if this has been discussed beyond all measure feel free to merge this with the appropriate thread. I still find it all more than a little coincidental.
