'Alien' was inspired by 'Planet of the Vampires' movie

It's on Netflix too. O'bannon mentions borrowing from that.

The first half....the second half is totally "it the terror from beyond space"

I have not seen this although I have heard about it for years and years...one of those films like Carnival of Souls that seeps into other movies.

You're right Ebugogo...but O'Bannon said that 'Alien' was also heavily influenced by 'Forbidden Planet', 'The Thing From Another World' and a lifetime lived in movies....

There are many things in this movie that are simular to Alien and Prometheus. There are two ships who intercept a distress becon. They land and in one scene on the Alien Ship they come across 2 skeletons of large humaniod creatures they dont look like Alien Space Jockey, but if the Blu Guys was Organic like us and died then their skeletons would be the same. In the move POTV they see one Skeleton outside the ship and another slouched over a controll panel in the ship. The crews space suits and helmets have a simular look to Prometheus. There are two human ships, and they both are of a croissant shape, well they would apear to influence the Derelict ships only they are mechanical. The plot is about a dieing race who set a signal as a trap for mankind, so they can use our boddies as they need us to allow them to live on. They then end up setting a course to Earth.
