Idiotic Fun

I always watch all of the comic book idiotic blockbuster movies that come out every summer, and I don't expect anything more out of them than I would from "Army of Darkness." I think that if Scott had just promoted this movie as something along the lines of "Spiderman," etc, few viewers wouldn't have complained about the result. The issue is one of expectations, not actual quality, it is just as good or better as anything else out this year.

Of course, that's obvious. I pay good money on the expectations I have for any artist; cinema, music or art. I am going to severely disappointed if I pay $15 for a new Rolling Stones album that sounds like Miley Cyrus. Same thing,

Yeah, I can still remember how sickeningly disappointed I was when Jar Jar Binks first appeared on screen in SW 1, I've had zero respect for Lucas ever since. The only director who has never disappointed me is James Cameron, but Blade Runner is still my favorite movie of all time.

ebugogog...Jar Jar..was a huge turn off to many...But you dont know unless you test it...I bet a lot of Jar Jar dolls were sold though. On the is movie...remember, if you just watch it a s guy going on a trillion dollar spending spree and no one is trained to do anything particular, then it is a hit. It is that type of styory. Not scientific, not military and to gather data...It is not equipped for that. Now go see the movie...it is a masterpeice

In the upcoming Spiderman movie, you have a mad scientist that is willing to turn himself into a lizard in order to get his arm back, Weyland was willing to turn others into mutants to find a way to live longer. I've never played any of the Alien video games, but I checked out some videos of game play on YouTube, and there was all the explanation of who Weyland was that anyone would ever need. The viral videos should have portrayed Weyland in the same sociopathic manner, then we would have gone into the movie expecting him to be really dangerous. The Weyland of the video games is the boogeyman.

That was a hell of a pitch for Superman, who I couldn't care less about before this thread started but now I'm seriously reconsidering.....a mad scientist turns himself into a lizard to get his ARM back. I gotta admit, that's irresistible
