Cobra Hugger

The new Alien featured in the new Prometheus trailer looks very similar to that of a 'COBRA' snake. I'm coining the phrase 'Cobra-Hugger' for when I reffer to this Alien. I will have a screen cap up shortly. But for those who saw the trailer, share your thoughts on this new parasite below!

Looks like an organic version of the weyland yutani logo, perhaps it's actually synthetic?

I've said it in another thread, I personally don't like it, but I'm confident that in the whole context of the scene will be OK. Maybe the thing that doesn't convince me yet are the kind of wings being too symmetrical...... I don't know is just a personal taste. Also I think we shouldn't name it a hugger yet, we know it gets on somebody's suit but not what it reallly does....... remember Ford shaking.

i think it simply puts it's long snake like tail down your throat to implant and the cobra hood acts as second pair of lungs or wind pipe to keep you breathing. Heck, maybe it kills you right then and there. How the glas melts and sucks to your face is beyond me. Blass melting could = acid for blood.

I think it does inject something when it bites you, be that alien or a virus that transforms you into something, alien or sj or who knows what else. It has been posted before and someone mentioned on youtube and the idea was interesting that since the derelict in Alien has been said to be an older derelict that as Dallas said when he saw the SJ, has been there for a long time ... the xeno, facehugger, eggs could be the protoforms, could be the outdated bio-tech. This cobra thingy whatever and the liquid and whatever infects the guy that causes his helmet to melt be the better improved, new bio-tech. Just a thought.

Agreed with the "why stand there and extend my arm so you can get into my suit" actually it feels like the guy actually tries to grab it, just stayy away. and "duh" we do not know if this thing is biomechanic, not everything has to be.

Yeah, grabbing for it was a bonehead play.

Safe? Of course he isn't safe, but he's good!

You are right cryo not everything has to be biomechanical but for the looks of things in previous movie, Alien it seemed to some of us it was. But who knows what it really is, you are right.

Well it would seem this Organism maybe just gets inside of you and controlls you from the inside much like a Trill symbiont from Star Trek. to Maybe the Organism gets into or effects the Brain, that would explain how come one seems to burst out of the Space Jockey Head/Helmet.
