It's also been suggested that it is the face of a fucked up crew member. Someplace on AvPgalaxy someone posted outlines in the reflection.
I can't say I honestly know what he is looking at. Could be anything at this point.

That's not a spoiler, it was in the trailer. And speaking of SJ Faces, check out this guy, he's not looking too good. He's got a splitting headache...

Where do YOU think these Jockey's are going?
Janek says within the trailers, "Whatever that probe is picking up, its reading lifeform." Im guessing those holographic Jockey's are the lifeforms. David watches as a group of Jockey's are headed his way. They must be holograms but why are they holograms and what triggered them.

@rick...the veins on that heads forehead look alot like the ones racing all over that person standing by the waterfall in the original trailer.
April 30, 2012
I wonder if this is the result of the process we see going on with the blue guy at the waterfall...

@RC8
I am more prone to think that the probe is picking up the snake thing.
Ridley Scott will eventually tell us how the Queen was born.
Right now we have the Deacon; coming soon the Mercury, the May and the Taylor.

@RC8...seems like david unlocks some sort of "ships log" that dislpays in the form of holograms.
question is, why would it do that? i think the life forms that the probes pick up is the alien cobra.
April 30, 2012
@Noxword, @gameover man, I agree maybe you guys are right. It most likely is the Cobra hugger. I think David might of triggered something in the "Chair" room. Then all those holograms of Earth and what not are triggered.

@RickK...i wonder if that green blood/goop starting burning up the place after it gets everywhere?

First i think that first image is taken after the crew are told to return to the ship by Vickers, the healthy crew are escorting the wounded back on board, one of which is Fifield so that he can get some urgent medical attention. Only its at this point that as soon as he goes up the ramp to the Cargo Bay that guy in the silver suit ends up on the wrong side of a Mutant Fifield beat down.
The second image does seem to show a human face and one that looks a lot like the Head Statue. This would again confirm that the Jockey are Space Suits.
The Hologram seems to show the Jockeys in a rush, they are running from something or running to get to something really fast. Could they be heading to a ship to take off away from the planet? Could they be running away from some threat in the Temple.
This scenes we see David has his helmet off and i beleave they are after the scene with the Star Map, i think these Holograms are activated via David in the Controll Room.
Either that or they could be vissions passed on to David by either a Jockey or Data left within the Derelict and thus they are a message. Maybe one that only David sees.

@Ripley Clone 8,
David is seeing or an old recorded image, or a real image captured by the Spectragraphs playing on a Modular Computing Device.
I think the first one will be the truth. I don´t think we will see a living Space Jockey (I know the trailer shows what seems to be one, but I think that this is a trickery from Scott).

@BigDave...i think you might be mushing two different parts of the movie together. i dont think that when they return originally from the temple that fifield goes homicidal. the scene with fifield leaping off the ATV appears to be later in the story, as there seems to be alot of certainty among the crew to be firing at him (or at each other as I eluded to in the "5:17" topic i posted), everything is on fire and the environment outstide looks like its changed.
anybody know if fifield lodges something in that guys back before tossing him aside or if its part of the suit?
April 30, 2012
I'm with centrosphere on this one. Every piece of tech on the weyland thing is either there to connect it to the later films in a wink wink nudge nudge way, or is used in the film itself.
I think it is the devices playback.
April 30, 2012
Pffff its not a SJ , its a scene just outside the hangar ...he's one of the "expendable" characters observing Milburn or Fifield face ....and must be not a pleasant sight .
April 30, 2012
Could be they send David back alone because he is expendable and would not be mutated by the weird shit all over the place where or they sent him first and he enjoys pushing buttons.
April 30, 2012
Again no one can be sure.
But the look in that one guys face does look shocked.
Maybe yes they are shocked to see this crew members face but they let him on and after he latter mutates and kicks off.
Lets look at what we see from the trailers Milburn seems to be dead, the actor says he dies in the movie (but then who does not in this movie?).
If its a case of the face melted crew member is allowed on board his apearence is a shock to the crewman in the silver suit, then why does Vickers point the Flammer at Holloway and he has to hold his hands up and kind of persaude her he is ok.
Why, if she let the other guy on no problems.
Thats why i think the other guy Fifield, goes on a rampage after he sets foot back in the Cargo Bay.
You can see people shooting from outside the Cargo Bay into it and the mutant.
You can then see people running from the door and shooting at it from the doors leading to the inside of the ship from the Cargo bay.
Thus two different camera views of the Cargo bay, one looking in and one looking out or two different Cargo Bay scenes?
If i am correct then this means that the scene of what looks like a frail old man is not Holloway and must be Weyland.

@BigDave...well, that doesnt mean it "must" be Weyland, it just means its not Holloway. and like i've said, it seems to me you're turning two scenes, one probably towards the middle of the film, and the other (the one where we see fifield doing aerial stunts) towards the end...it just seems like a very climatic event, something that would take place after the plot of the story is revealed.
and although its been stated that Shaw is the one who takes on a Ripley'esque journey, i still see alot of Ripley in Vickers. especially in this scene we keep discussing, where she decides who's allowed back in the ship and who isnt...very reminiscent of when Ripley refuses to let Kane back on the Nostromo in Alien...and Ash goes over her head.
