I apologize if people have already made these connections. Prometheus, I've noticed has a lot of focus on religious questions. I thought of a possible metaphor that takes place in the movie that we've all seen in the trailer. I'm starting to think that the scene where Shaw has to go inside the Med Pod to have something removed is the disturbing (chest burster) scene of Prometheus. I'm starting to see a possible possession/exorcism parallel going on here. She wants the demon to leave her body. I think I read somewhere that Shaw is the religious one in the movie and I think it would be fitting. Any thoughts on this idea?

From Shaw's perspective (Abrahamic), i think she believes she is going to Eden. As things unfold, she realizes that the seraphim and cherubim have all been killed or corrupted, and the serpent is still loose, or even in charge of the garden now.

I have always thought that Giger's unique form of automatic painting offered glimpses into both the good and the evil spiritual worlds - beauty and beauty corrupted. I think that the idea of God creating angels then the fallen angels rebelling, Greek gods and their younger usurpers are closer than most people think. Weyland declaring that "We are now the gods." is not the kind of statement that God or a Greek idea of a god would ever let go unchecked. That is usually the kind of presumptuous mocking statement that coincides with the proverb "pride comes before a big fall." That's usually the precursor of bad things hitting the fan. Weyland has knowledge, but does he have wisdom as well? I suspect that Ridley Scott with play with both of these themes (Greek/Christian) with Giger illuminating the way with images that will totally blow us away. -They've certainly saved the best for the movie and I cannot wait.
